This is the first mattress I've bought at this price range. It is taking much longer to break in than I expected, it's still stiff and I'm stiff waking up with back pain, although it's not as bad compared to the last mattress. At this price range I would have expected a lot more out of it. The only reason I wouldn't give it three stars is because I don't have much to compare it to.

We had a high-end Tempur-Pedic mattress for 2.5 years and eventually found we woke-up almost in pain. For a little more than 1/3 of the price we paid for the Tempur-Pedic, we are now sleeping much better on Purple. It really is an odd combination of soft and supportive, no matter how I sleep. It's not as thick as the Tempur-pedic, and my only complaint is that it lacks that initial no-give support when you sit down on it. But then I lay down and am happy!

I've had the mattress for 1 month now and my wife loves it. I have also had a headache for the past 1 month from sleeping on the mattress. I don't know if it is the mattress itself, or any other condition. Very strange. I'm still investigating to see what the matter might be and if it is the mattress I will send it back. I recently purchased the purple pillow to try it and see if the issue is the combination of my old pillow or not. Still waiting on the pillow to arrive and will follow up with a verdict later.

I was really excited to receive my mattress . I was kinda surprised to see how thin it was. Orriginally I thought I ordered the purple 3 instead I received the original. The mattress is really firm , to firm for me and I don't really feel the cushion that purple is famous for . Honestly I bragged about my purple before I got it , now I'm not so sure it literally feels like I'm laying on memory form and it's not very comfortable . My girlfriend says it absolutely horrible to sleep on. Sorry but I guess I'm jus a little disappointed .

I LOVE IT!! Ive had severe backspin for so so many years , After sleeping on my purple mattress the first night I felt the difference in my mood and my back pain was not as sharp as it usually was. After about 2 weeks my backpain was GONE!! Im not joking. Every morning I was in so much unbelievable pain before but now no more! Thank you Purple Mattress!!!

I'm disabled and spend much of my time in bed so a comfortable one is vital. I find "purple" to reduce bursa and shoulder pain, I like the ability to change positions electronically (It could improve by having an automatic setting which would slowly rock a person throughout the night, shifting pressure points) I like the soft/firm level ( the area around the center where we sit could give more resistance. I love the vibration....although I've not figured it all out yet. Arm rests on each side would improve the product. Yet, overall, I love it. I kept my old bed in the room just in case I wanted it back and have only gone back to it two or three times for a few minutes. Wish I could have worked on the R&D since I'm so demanding of perfection. This bed comes close and I think with a few small tweaks, it could reach perfection. D. VanderHamm

When dad became ill a new mattress that would work on a hospital bed was needed. We needed one that also was supportive as comfort and skin integrity was important. Dad/ Grandpa is now home on his Twin XL mattress on his hospital bed and it works great! He is sleeping well through the night and managing well. Thank you Purple for taking such good care. Both OT and PT have said how wonderful the mattress is. This was a 10/10 purchase.

I was really looking forward to this bed. I spent about a year researching this and other beds and choose this one because of very good marketing and advertising. The first few nights were great, my wife and I could tell that our backs no longer hurt. After a few more nights or hips and knees began to hurt. I actually had to put a pillow at the end of the bed for my feet to rest on. I attribute this to being a side sleeper. If people are back or stomach sleepers, this bed will probably be great. Also, since getting this bed my wife and I have not been able to sleep through the night.

The mattress itself is cool to sleep on and is a quality product...however...I am a side sleeper and while I don't experience shoulder pain like I did with my previous Sleep Number bed, I still experience hip and back pain with this mattress. I will be returning it and although I am sure that this mattress would be excellent for some, it just doesn't work for me, which is too bad. Good company and quality product. Definitely worth a try!

I was having back and shoulder problems on our old mattress. Once we switched to the purple mattress my issues had gone away within a week! There really is nothing else comparable. It is instant comfort. It never gets too hot and it is easy on your body no matter which way you lay. It is exactly what we needed.
