I've only had my Purple about a month, but so far it's been fantastic. My biggest reason for buying was the temperature; sleeping on a purple has been the only time I haven't sweat at night. The mattress is very firm, which I like, but may not be for everyone. I sink in enough to be supported. For reference, I'm about 5'9" and 170, so a bit on the dense side. If you want a cool night's sleep, this certainly does the trick. I don't know anyone who sleeps as hot as I do, and Purple finally gave me comfort. If you want a softer mattress, you'll probably have to shell out some cash for the purple 2 and up, but luckily the original works best for me.

Amazing product! Hands down the comfiest bed I have slept on. weight transfer is almost non existent which is good since my Girlfriend flails around in her sleep. Although the one thing I will say is that it takes a while to get the mattress when they are out of stock and careful with the choice of bed sheets as it does take away from the comfort. Currently have some stiff sheets on = stiffer mattress duh. But overall; awesome product and money well spent. Thanks Purple! p.s Send some mattress protectors will ya! =p

It's not as they say. It doesn't relieve pressure points and doesn't Aline your spine. It's too hard. I weigh 225 which is plenty to sink into a medium firm mattress, but this isn't that. This is a FIRM 8 out of 10 mattress. I wake up with sore legs almost everyday because they sink into the bed at all.

After an auto accident, my paraplegic son has been bedridden for over a year convalescing. He could not perform conventional pressure releases from his gel mattress, resulting in life-threatening pressure sores. We purchased the conventional Purple mattress in early summer and since noticed the sores were healing more quickly . We recently added the power base, and that has really been the clincher. Now that he can adjust the bed, he can more easily eliminate pressure points with the press of a button. It has become much easier for him to transfer in and out of bed. Best of all, his pressure sores are nearly healed after only a few months on the Purple bed! I truly believe Purple saved my son's life. Oh, did I mention how comfortable it is? Daddy wants a Purple, too!

I was really excited for this mattress, and upon getting approved through Affirm I was elated when I placed the order for my mattress. After paying and talking with purple, they told me they would not know when my product would be arriving until it was actually shipped. This kinda threw a wrench in things as I was leaving for a business trip in the coming week. They told me a soon as I got a tracking number I would be able to call FedEx and place a hold on the shipment. Fast forward a few days and purple emails me letting me know that my mattress has been shipped, no surprise - the delivery date is one day after I leave for a 3 week business trip. I then call FedExas purple advised me to and requested for them to place a hold on my mattress delivery date. They informed me that normally this would be not a problem and it's called a "vacation hold" but unfortunately purple no longer allowed vacation holds on their shipments (as it's up to the shipper, their expense). Now most people could have it held at a FedEx location for pick up when they get back but I physically am not able to drive for medical reasons, so that was not an option for me. I spoke with a FedEx manager who put a note on the shipment asking them to hold delivery until a certain date and I even left a note on my door asking the driver to hold it - but the mattress was left on my door step. I live in a condo in Miami Beach, not necessarily the best place for packages of any sort to be left on the doorstep. I contacted purple multiple times and asked them to have someone please come pick up the mattress. They told me the only thing I could do was cancel my order and then they would send someone to come pick up the mattress and take it back and then I would have to re-purchase the mattress. This is so far from quality customer service it's insane. Luckily when I returned home the mattress was there, but had been rained on, and was wet inside and out. after opening and allowing the mattress to dry I really have done my best to try and adapt to this mattress the past few weeks but unfortunately I don't think it's for me. I'm not sure if being wet and sitting out in the sun for weeks damaged it but this mattress is just not as advertised. The gel layer on top is not as bouncy or as soft to the touch as the pillow is, and truthfully I wish I did not give my old mattress away because I would be sleeping much better on that. While I'm on that topic, the pillow is an absolute disaster. I am a 6 foot 215 pound male who sleeps on his side often - and this pillow is nearly impossible to use. The pillow is maybe two or 3 inches thick, and my neck is crooked down to even make contact with the pillow when on my side. If you're a back sleeper this pillow is probably great, it feels good to the touch, the gel is super awesome - it the mattress get half as good as the pillow I'd be happy. If the pillow were 2x thicker I would love it! Overall, pretty unhappy, will be returning this and ordering from another company.

Material tearing up, cover comes off. Other issues: SWEATY! DOES NOT breathe Feels Weird(My Opinion) Took FOREVER TO SHIP When Attempting to refund/send back...was hung up on...at this Time I had only had it for 2 Days. If I could give this product a negative star I would.

When I laid on my Purple Mattress for the first time a wave of euphoria rolled through me and soon I found happy tears coming from my eyes from my body's pure bliss of having such a heavenly almost weightless experience delivered to me from my beautiful, worth every penny and more Purple Mattress.

Purple makes a pretty good case for buying thier base, to properly support the mattress and preserve the warranty. Unfortunately, the metal is too thin, and the welds don't hold up. On our king size base, some of the tubes making up the grid warped or burst open, and the welds holding the leg supports broke loose. This is after the one year warranty, so not even covered. We have a full size base which has held up better, but on that one, the wire grid work has warped in the middle. It's too bad. The space under the bed is convenient, and the mattress itself is great. But, don't buy the Purple base.

Our expensive hybrid memory foam mattress has formed two perfectly shaped body dents where my husband and I slept after only 3 years. We both woke up with backaches, neck aches, and headaches from our mattress. Ever since buying the "perfect" purple mattress, all of our aches have gone away!

I got my King-sized Purple mattress as a replacement/upgrade for my saggy Queen-sized mattress. My previous mattress had been causing me some minor back pain every morning for a while. When I first tried the Purple mattress, before I put sheets on it, I thought it felt very supportive but gave way in pressure points unlike I've felt in mattresses before, which I liked a lot. I put my sheets on and slept on the bed mattress a few nights, but was somewhat disappointed. The Purple mattress seemed too firm and my back still hurt, but differently (more in my lower back than mid-back like it had been before). I removed a portion of the sheets and realized that it was way different and seemed much better without. I looked into it and found that Purple recommends stretchy fitted sheets and sheet protectors to fully utilize the technology, but a loose sheets was a somewhat-adequate substitute. After a couple weeks my back didn't hurt any more (now I think my back was slowly getting better), but I feel like I'm still not getting the full value of the mattress without the stretchy fitted sheet and stretchy mattress protector. I would have got them right when I realized that might be the problem, but I didn't want to invest in the significantly more expensive stretchy setup before I knew if I was sold on the Purple mattress. I like the mattress now and am reluctantly-willing to buy the sheets, but I do wish the stretchy-sheet "suggestion" (I'd lean more toward requirement) had been made more clear prior to purchase. Plan on the extra expense of stretchy stuff and you'll not be disappointed.
