I've had the Purple mattress for just over a month now and I'm very happy with it. It sleeps cool, but not cold, and vents enough heat to keep me right in the middle temperature wise. The bed is extremely comfortable, but does take some getting used to. When I first lay on the mattress, I felt like I was sliding around. This is just the "purple" part of the bed doing what it's supposed to. After a couple of minutes the bed conforms to your body, but not like a memory foam mattress; this is far better! The bed will give just enough to contour to your body, but not so much that you sink in. This makes it perfect for turning and getting out of bed. I've slept better on this mattress than any other I've had before. I have it on an adjustable base (already had it, sorry Purple) and have had not issues with slipping or moving of the mattress. I've used several other mattresses over the past year in an attempt to find the right one, and the Purple mattress is it! I also have the Purple pillow (prior to the mattress) and it is by far the greatest pillow I've ever put my head on. This mattress won't be for everyone, it does sleep a little firm, but really it falls just on the firm side of center on a comfort scale. Before you consider wasting your money on a certain mattress company that will find your "number", you should consider Purple. It is far superior to that other company, and really, I believe it to be superior to most other major retail brands, and a fraction of the price. Purple has found a customer for life with me.

I had my previous bed for 8 years, and was hesitant to buy a new mattress. After sleep on the purple for three weeks, I am highly satisfied. I'm a side sleeper and have lower back problems. The intense pains have been continuing to subside with each night I sleep on this new mattress. It's very comfortable and I can't believe I don't feel my wife get in and out of bed. Amazing!

Sad to say that I'm not a fan of the purple mattress. I have family that love the mattress and I hoped that I would too, but it is way too firm for me. I wake up with a stiff back and hardly able to move. We had the mattress for 99 days with a month long vacation at the end. Slept good on almost every mattress while we were traveling. Sadly, I came back home to the same stiff back and discomfort as before we left. Disappointed that I didn't enjoy it like my other family members did.

It takes alot for me to leave reviews and all I can say is that this mattress exceeded my expectations. Not too firm not no soft the right balance for me! I was able to receive and take upstairs my self and open with no issues. I love how the purple grid works. I used to sleep on a tempurpedic mattress and sweat HEAVILY at night. No night sweats with this mattress and love how responsive the mattress is vs waiting on the tempur pedic to adjust to me. I purchased the soft steetch sheets and it keeps me on the perfect temperature at night plus they feel so good!

We love our purple. We have had it a couple weeks now. We no longer wake up with back aches and it's so nice to fall into at night. We got the sheets and love those as well. The only thing I'd say is it's not as tall as our other bed. It took some getting used to from our other mattress that set us up pretty high off the ground. If doing it again I'd also get a California King. We've always just had a king but for some reason this feels shorter then the average king.

When we got it delivered there was no way I could lift it or drag it into the house, my husband had to do it, so it is really heavy, I suggest if you live alone or are a small person you will need to have a friend come help you get in to your place and get it to your bedroom. It was a real pain to get it unwrapped, lifted on to the bed , and get the plastic off. It really needs a sticker so something indicating which side is up so when you unwrap it you dont unwrap it wrong side up, which is what we did. I took a star off for these reasons only. The mattress was really uncomfortable the first week, but only because we where sleeping on crap and our muscles where not accustomed to having proper support so we had some soreness but now I dont want to sleep anywhere else! We are loving this mattress and both sleeping great! No more hip or back pain, and its not hot at all for a foam mattress. I will not buy anything other than a Purple from here on out. I suggest buying one right now and giving it a go! Oh and buy their mattress protector! please do it! Its soft and it's already come in handy (dog threw up on our bed) so yea add it to your purchase its worth it.

I PURCHASED THIS MATTRESS BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY A DIFFERENT FEELING MATTRESS. IT DOES NOT DISSAPOINT. MY ORIGINAL MATTRESS THAT I PURCHASED IS A SLEEP NUMBER I-9000 BACK IN 2005.I REPLACED THE COVERS AND FOAM, AND IT IS GOOD AS NEW AND READY FOR ANOTHER 15YRS. NOW BACK TO THE PURPLE 4, FOR ME THE PRESSURE OF THIS MATTRESS IS INCREDIBLE, IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE IT, QUITE RELAXING. I WILL SAY THE 1st WEEK OR TWO, MY BODY WAS ACHING IN PLACES I DIDNT KNOW EXISTED, AND I WAS THINKING, MAYBE I MADE A MISTAKE. NOT A CHANCE. IT SEEMS THAT ITS GOING TAKE MORE TIME FOR MY BODY TO GET FULLY USED TO THIS MATTRESS, BECAUSE IM WAKING UP RELAXED IN THE MORNING. THE FIRST WEEK THAT I SLEPT ON THE MATTRESS, IT WAS SOFT, BOUNCY, AND THE PURPLE GRID HAD A ROLLING EFFECT LIKE WATER BED. AFTER ABOUT 3 WKS., THE BED SEEMS TO HAVE ADJUSTED TO ITSELF. IT DOESNT FEEL AS SOFT, NO ROLLING EFFECT, AND IT FEELS EVEN MORE SUPPORTIVE ( NOT FIRM ). FOR ME PERSONALLY, IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE PURPLE COMPANY WOULD MAKE AN ALL NATURAL ADD-ON PILLOW TOP USING COTTON AND OTHER ORGANIC MATERIALS TO COMPLIMENT THE PURPLE GRID MATERIAL. ALL IN ALL FOR ME PERSONALLY, THIS IS A VERY COMFORTABLE MATTRESS AND HOPEFULLY I WILL SOON BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A PURPLE 4 TWIN XL.

My first impression with purple really didn't have much to do with purple at all It was with Affirm so far I am really happy with their service and how it works. Now to the mattress. It arrived a day late which was a bit annoying but not terrible. It was easy to set up, had no weird smells and inflated quickly. I was happy with how clean it was. IT IS NOT THE SIZE ADVERTISED. Vertically its an inch and a half plus short. Width wise it's off about a half inch. Personally this is a mistake that is not a big deal practically, however it drives me nuts. When you have 2 founders one that is a, "literal rocket scientist" and you place the specific measurements on your website... it should meet them every time without question. It just feels like a cheap and insulting move. Because who would really expect them to fix a problem like that it seems petty. It just shouldn't be a thing. My other concern which, in total transparency hasn't happened at all yet, is all the negative reviews that talk about the mattress breaking down and creating divots in 6 months to a year. I unfortunately can see this happening without too much strain. Just based on how the mattress feels. As long as this is something they replace IF it occurs at all I have no real concern. This is why I will review again at 6 months and a year. Moving on...the edge support is negligible and the thickness leaves something to be desired. At 5'10 and 160 lbs I don't feel evenly supported and I'm clearly not a big dude. Head, shoulders and mid back all feel really good. However my lumbar spine and hips feel pulled down by my legs and it creates a space where I have less support then I should. This is made most egregious on your back position. Unfortunately its a problem I am reminded of a few times a week and keeps me from adopting a back sleeping position. If you are an unfortunate stomach sleeper like me a thinner pillow with this mattress will probably make your life better, as it seems like the best pairing. Purple 1 isn't cheap and no amount of clever marketing should make the value go up on its own. On principle, the purple 1 feels like a very good rough draft. And if you want to get the real deal I would assume you must get a purple 2 on up. Once you cross that line though you are back to paying a high premium and they really haven't done you any favors compared to many other companies they simply just have a different approach. Reading the product descriptions supports my feelings that if you have a problem with your purple one they tried to fix it with the newer models. unfortunately you don't know its an issue until you have tried the original. One to the good things. I enjoy my purple so far in its softness and support in all areas not limbo pelvic. Its Extremely cool it really doesn't feel like it retains much if any of your heat. I noticed a difference in the first night sleep with a major reduction of shoulder and neck pain to almost zero. The Unique feel isn't an issue for me at all, but it is different. It really doesn't feel like a traditional mattress and I could see that bugging some i really like it though. Not only does it not seem to produce any smell or off gassing it seems like a very cool and clean space to breath. I know that sounds odd, i just find my breathing better frankly when I am on it and look for ward to that. Purple has been a bit to slow to respond for me yet, in fairness its December, and the facade of this happy bubbly company that, "hopes you have a purple day!" kinda makes you feel like you aren't being taken seriously. It seems that building a brand and keeping the name clean is the most important thing. Somewhere in the middle lie, pun not intended, you and the principle quality of the mattress. It probably doesn't sound like it, yet I am cautiously optimistic. I think the issues I have are all lazy easy to fix issues and that is, frustrating. The real question is with all the positives do I want to ride out the rough draft? Upgrade ( no i don't think i should have to to resolve them these seem like problems that shouldn't exist at this level of rocket science and cost). Or find something different. Plainly I like this mattress I just don't feel like i should have to live with the little issues or upgrade. Solid 3 1/2 stars. We will see what another 60 days has to say. The first two weeks were awesome-I slept really well and felt like my posture improved. The third week, I began feeling aches and pains, and my sleep habits were very poor. My body was likely just getting adjusted because by the 4th week, I felt great again and sleep habits greatly improved.

I have degenerative disc disease and have been trying to find a bed that provides support but is still comfortable. After trying memory foam, orthopedic beds, and air support I was convinced there was no solution. My wife suggested Purple because she was convinced the unique design might help. The first night I slept on the Purple I immediately noticed a difference! It has now been two months and my back pain is gone and for the first time in years I am sleeping through the night without pain. THANK YOU PURPLE! If you have lower back issues BUY THIS MATTRESS!!!! You will never regret it.
