As with most people, the first few weeks sleeping on the Purple mattress were challenging. One morning I woke up with my arms asleep and in so much pain that I was convinced there was no other option but to return it. However, after reading about the experiences of others, I decided to stick it out. At the end of the trial period we were happy with the quality of the sleep we were getting and hopeful that we would continue to be satisfied for 4-5 years. That was just over 1 year ago. We are very disappointed with the durability. Our comfort has deteriorated to the point where we are just hoping to get 1 more year before going on the search - again! - for a mattress that will hold up for a longer period of time. We purchased the platform with the mattress, use the Purple brand sheets, and neither my husband nor I are large or heavy people so there is nothing we have done to shorten the life of the mattress. I was really hoping for better for the price.

I have arthritis in my hips, shoulders, spine, etc and am in constant pain. Falling asleep is difficult. When first getting into bed the mattress is unforgiving. It applies too much pressure to all of my joints to the point where it hurts and I can't get comfortable. BUT, when I wake up in the morning I have free range of motion and no joint or muscle aches and pains. If I buy again may try the softer version.

We have had the bed for 2-3 weeks now and we are really enjoying it. It definitely took me some time to adjust to it. The first night was a little rough. After that it was okay. But maybe 5-7 days in and my back is feeling good and sleeping great. Wife only had 2-3 days adjustment. Wife is a side sleeper and this is great for those hip and shoulder pressure points. Was a little disappointed at first because I thought it would be amazing right away (rather than taking some time), but we do love it and are glad we purchased.

My wife and I have had this mattress for about a year and a half and it's horrible. Should have returned it. We both have back and hip so bad from this mattress that we are lucky if we can get a few decent hours of sleep. Everything this mattress claims to do it definitely does not do, and now we are out a lot of money on a rip-off mattress that leaves us exhausted every day. Now we are stuck with this paperweight and have to figure out coming up with money to buy another mattress. this is hands down the worst mattress I have ever had and huge financial loss, DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS IT IS A RIP-OFF!!!

I have to admit, I wasn't sure that I would like this Matressthunker at first. It's been 3 weeks and I am in love with it. I feel like I did back when I was in my 20s and would bounce out of bed with no aches or pains. I sleep better and deeper and in the morning, I don't feel groggy. I would recommend this mattress to anyone who wants a good night sleep.

Shortly after we purchased the mattress I found out I was pregnant. I wasn't sure if this would be a good choice for a growing belly, but here at about 6 months in I find it doing it's job well. I can even roll over a little bit more on to my belly than I can on other beds so I don't need one of those fancy pregnancy pillows. My husband likes it too and has been sleeping better and having less back pain in general. We both have jobs where we are on our feet all day so this is important to us. Additionally, I wasn't sure how our cats would deal with changing one of their favorite pieces of furniture, but they have taken to it well. My only complaint is that the sides slope in and my pillows get stuck in the area between the mattress and the headboard: minor detail I fixed by rolling up a towel and tucking it under the bottom sheet.

I got this mattress after moving in with my boyfriend. Neither of us loved our mattresses and thought it would be better do buy one together. the price is on the high end for a mattress in the box type but we did our research and felt this was the right mattress for us. After a few months of use I can say we totally love. First off, the purple top layer keep you cool. Second. I am a side sleeper and while I like firm mattresses I need something that is not too firm or else it hurts, the purple fit the bill. While the mattress is pretty heavy, it is easy enough to move. And we liked the fact that the purple doesn't need to be taken out of the box and left for a few hours (like some foam mattresses), it was good to go right away.

Previous bed: Sealy posturepedic pillow top middle of the road, approx same price as purple. Fine enough bed. Kept for 8 years. Bought the original purple and man what a difference. I didn't even realize how sore I was sleeping on the other bed. I now sleep better, all lower back pain is gone, all shoulder pain is gone and I no longer sleep hot. You all have absolutely nailed it with this bed.

The mattress is really great quality and the technology is cool, but it just isn't working for us. I'm 120 pounds and just don't feel like I sink into it enough. I'm a side sleeper and my shoulders just hurt from the pressure. Interestingly, my husband is 220 pounds and basically has the same complaint. We've been sleeping on it for close to a month now. We were hoping that we would adjust to it over time, but we're both waking up sore and achy. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll need to return it, which I'm very thankful is an option.

I was so excited to get my new mattress, but unfortunately for me and my boyfriend, this has not been the answer to our aches and pains. I'm 130lbs, hes 140lbs and we are both side sleepers. We got the original purple mattress and although this bed feels both soft and firm at the same time when you sit on it and I wanted so bad for this mattress to be the best mattress I've ever owned, it feels like I'm sinking right through the grid part and I'm just laying on top of a hard piece of foam so it ends up feeling too firm. I'm sure the more expensive purple mattresses would be a better fit, but that's nothing I can afford! I already bought another mattress online and plan on returning the one we have once we get to our 21 day mark. Sorry, purple!
