While the purple does have great back support, the off-gasing or material it is made of is not hypo-allergenic. The first few weeks I had to sleep on the couch because my throat would close up if I laid down on the mattress. It's been about 3 and 1/2 weeks since it arrived and it's to the point that if I stay on my pillow I'm ok, but if I roll off of it I start having an allergic reaction again. The polyurethane may be the issue. It's so hard to find a truly hypo-allergenic mattress that offers awesome support these days!

I sleep so much better and with much less hip pain. Thank you Purple Mattress!! I bought one for my younger son as a house warming gift and then he bought me one when I downsized and bought a new home. We love this mattress so much that I bought one for my older son and his wife for a belated wedding/honeymoon gift.

This mattress is much better than I expected. I'm a side sleeper. With my old mattress, I would always wake up with my hip and shoulder hurting . My back would also hurt because my hips would turn a different way throughout the night which would cause my back to stay at a weird angle. With this new mattress, I feel great when I wake up! I also sleep all through the night rather than waking up once or twice. I was worried that I would regret this purchase, but I definitely don't! I am so happy I finally got a new mattress! We had a queen size purple, but now it's so nice to have the king, my boyfriend and girlfriend and I all fit so nicely, and it's the most wonderful sleep I've ever had. Combined with the power base we've never slept better in our lives. It was really life changing and I could never go back to a regular bed.

I herniated a disc in my spine and stayed in pain for about 9 months. I started sleeping on my new Purple mattress only a week ago and it has already helped my back pain tremendously. For months I had been waking up with about 5/10 pain in the injury spot. Now I wake up with 0/10 or 1/10. I also live with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and finding a mattress that I don't have reactions to is challenging. The Purple mattress does have a smell fresh out of the package, so for those who are extremely sensitive, you might want to offgas it first. But, it offgassed quickly for me. It smells like nothing after about a week or two! I used to own an Essentia, which is 4x the price. I thought I would be using my Essentia pillows, but I actually really love the Purple pillow. My neck feels more aligned. It's not ideal for sitting on the edge of the bed. It doesn't provide much support and I slowly slide off, but that's a minor inconvenience for having an MCS-safe, comfortable mattress that helps my back!!! Overall, I love my Purple mattress and everyone I know who owns one loves theirs, too, including another person with MCS.

I absolutely LOVE this mattress! I am going on my 5th back surgery this month and I am sure I will be comfortable! The first day I got my mattress I set it up myself! Put sheets on laid on my back and fell asleep for 4 hours !(unintentionally) It was the first time in 18 years I have been able to sleep on my back! I have resorted to side sleeping all those 18 years! I have recommended the Purple Mattress to friends at church that asked me about the comfort and warranty! Thank you Purple for making my broken body comfortable again while I sleep! No more waking up in pain 2-3 times a night!

Formerly slept on a Tempurpedic "cloud top" mattress and found it to sleep too hot. I would wake up several times a night sweating. Three weeks with my Purple and I'm having the best sleep that I've had in years. I rarely wake up and night and have been feeling great in the mornings. My only two complaints are that I thought that the shipping took a little too long and that the mattress unrolls upside down requiring me to flip it. I was home alone and found it quite difficult to flip a 140lb king size mattress by myself. Love the mattress though.

I must say my experience with Purple was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. The process to purchase a mattress, deluxe sheets, and mattress protector was easy. But it was downhill from there. My mattress was defective in that the fancy purple grid was missing from the lower part of the mattress. When I lay on it, there was no support for my lower legs. I contacted customer service via the chat option, and they eventually connected me to the warranty department. After taking and sending multiple photos (which required rearranging the bedroom yet again in order to access everything they wanted for photos). I received an automatic reply that someone would get back to me in 5-7 days. What I have a defective mattress and nobody can even start the process to help me for 5-7 days I reached out to them at 5 days and 7 days. Emails were bounced back. I requested a call back from the phone line and never received one. Chat was the best option, and all they could tell me was that I should have been more accurately told it would take 8-10 days to start the process. I do not have a lot of extra space for a defective mattress. Over a week to START the process In the meantime, I was trying to sleep on this defective mattress and feeling more and more frustrated. I finally got an email that they were reordering a mattress and once received I could contact them again to start the process to return the defective mattress. At this point I wanted nothing else to do with the Purple company. I just wanted to return my items and be done with the whole mess. The last straw was having to pay $33 in shipping to return the sheets and mattress protector. This company brags about their customer service, but this was the worst example of service I have ever experienced. I understand there is a pandemic, and I am really not one to complain, but this has been an incredibly frustrating process. After over a month, someone came to pick up the defective mattress and I hope to get a prompt refund. I am so happy to be done with Purple and will never purchase from them again nor recommend them to others.

My husband and I recently purchased the original purple memory foam mattress (king size). We absolutely love it. I feel like I am weightless when I lay on it; it is very comfortable. My husband moves around a lot when he sleeps and the mattress doesn't move. I have no idea when he tosses and turns. Would highly recommend this mattress. We are happy we made the purchase.

It is luxurious, for the princess in all of us, it's a dream come true.
