For me, it's very comfortable while sleeping on both my back and on my side. I'm about 160 lbs. My girlfriend is also very comfortable sleeping on her back and side. She is about 130 lbs. Overall, it has a really unique feel that we both got used to very quickly. I would definitely recommend it.

After letting the bed air out for a bit I threw some sheets on and jumped in to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised by how supportive and comfortable it was. You normally get one or the other. Having sustained some pretty serious back / Ortho injuries in my day I can say in the few weeks I've had the bed symptoms have started to subside. Also I've seen some things about "depending on how heavy you are...", I'm 155lbs and I find that I sink exactly where I should and the rest of me is fully supported. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase! When the suggestions say to sleep on it for about 30 days before deciding anything, they were very right! This mattress is very different from anything else we've ever tried. Pain is less in the morning, but we still use a memory foam topper. It kind of makes it feel like the next step up in Purple mattresses with the topper. Overall, we are satisfied with our mattress!

I was really looking forward to the purple mattress because I had back pain. I got the purple pillows too. When it was finally delivered to me I was super excited to get a good nights rest. The first week I woke up with back pain and my neck was hurting. I thought maybe I just need to get used to the bed. A couple weeks went by and I decided to start using my other pillows and the neck pain went away. I still have back pain when I wake up and I sleep on my back so I don't think it's the way I'm sleeping. For the price I expected more. I think maybe the bed is too soft. Unfortunately my partner likes the bed so I'm in a bind. I'm not sure if I should return it.

Our old mattress would get very hot and we would have to leave it so it would cool off. Then after 10 minutes we would return to finish the night. The Purple Mattress has caused another issue, I am not able to get my Wife out of bed now, because it is cool and comfortable.

The mattress is comfortable no matter how you sleep. I've been sleeping on an air mattress for months and waking up felt pretty rough. Switching over to Purple alleviated a lot of my aches and pains and cut back on my stretching in the mornings. I run hot so the neutral insulation works nicely for me. My wife runs cold and has to put blankets under her to stay warm in the winter (even with the heat at 70f). The only gripe I have is that the packaging inside of the shipping "container" managed to work its way to the opposite end of the opening and the top of the mattress had some damage when pulled out due to the lack of protection the wrapping would have offered. This is my second Purple mattress and over time they do wear in. Where you sleep gets softer and less firm and your "spot" is slightly sunken in. Rotating the mattress helps regain that support but eventually you can't rotate to get more firmness. When the wearing in happens, rolling across the bed to cuddle leaves you feeling like you're trying to roll up hill, it was also problematic for my wife when she was last pregnant and trying to get out of bed. Purple's still comfortable after it wears in even if you like firmer beds. These are quirks you should be aware of, especially if you're coming from a traditional mattress.

I bought a twin for my 5 year old. Other twin mattresses I looked were double the price of the Purple. My son sleeps very well on it and sleeps through the night most of the time. I think if his bed had a solid frame instead of the skeletal one I bought him it would be even more comfortable. I will look at getting one for myself one day.
