Very smooth. I recommend buying a silicone pencil gripper like you would see on a normal pencil, it makes it very comfortable to hold.

I have a 7th Gen 10.2” iPad and a 1st Gen 12.9” iPad Pro. It failed to pair with either of the iPads.
