I have a 7th Gen 10.2” iPad and a 1st Gen 12.9” iPad Pro. It failed to pair with either of the iPads.

Only works with iPad pro but not clear that it is limited to that model I upgraded from version one only to have to return

The pencil (2th) doesn't work with lower cost ipads. Apple should warn consumers of that in it's advertising.
