The lid is too tight to open for a young kid. The box is quite heavy too.

I bought two of these lunch boxes in black, two months ago. The black coating started to peel off within the first couple of weeks and has continued to get worse week after week. I find the black flecks all over my kitchen counters, in the sink and in the lunch bags. The lunch box itself is fine, but I regret purchasing these. I recommend only buying the stainless steel color at best.
