I bought the new formula thinking it’d be nearly identical, but the added fragrance and other ingredients made my skin red and itchy. I have been using the original for several years now and have never had this problem before. I am very disappointed they changed the formula.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually really like this cleanser. I have combo skin and this cleanser doesn't cause any excessive issues with my skin. The one for gentle skin never made my skin feel like it was clean, but this one does, regardless of the fact that it doesn't have any foaming properties. I will say to still be careful with this, especially if you have reactive or sensitive skin. It does have fragrance so if your sensitive to that or you break out from it I would steer clear of this one and maybe go for the gentle skin one. The first night I used this I noticed my skin flared up a bit and it was a little red on my cheekbones and felt a bit itchy and slightly stingy. I never had that problem again so it very well could've been something I was using previously that already had my skin in a frenzy. This also doesn't claim to help acne because it's such a basic cleanser, but I have acne-prone skin and it's been keeping my skin super clear and it does help with minor breakouts and comedones.

I bought this by accident instead of the Gentle Skin Cleanser for face and body, which I had been using regularly. The Daily Facial Cleanser dries my face out and has an unpleasant chemically scent that the Gentle Skin Cleanser lacks. I gave it 3 stars because the bottle *does* specify for normal or oily skin, and my skin tends to be drier.

A very good facial cleanser but to me it doesn't do much else. It does clean your face extremely well but you know how sometimes after washing your face with certain products you can visibly see your skin glowing, hydrated, or cleaner? That is not the case here. It is gentle for everyday use and I love it as a first step to my skin care routine.

I found that this cleanser was too harsh on my skin. I have sensitive combination skin and I think it was just too harsh for me! It actually caused overly dry skin & tightness on my face after every use, even after moisturizer. Just didn't work for me! The scent was a little too chemical-y for me too.

I feel like it generally cleans my skin but the smell can be overpowering. The packaging reminds me very much of more medically prescribed cleansers. It is more of a harsh product because it removes all oil. It's more on the pricey side I guess, and I might buy it again but I'm probably going to branch out a little more

Who doesn't love Cetaphil, honestly? I've used it for a few years and it's a wonderful gentle, general facial cleanser. It's not a miracle worker; you won't lose your zit overnight; but it's a great way to keep your skin healthy and clear it up over time.

It for sure gently cleanses while not stripping away the essential oils in my face. I use it just about daily with my face washing brush. It’s also not too harsh on my skin; it’s a bit sensitive. I’ve added a couple pics for reference and more on my Insta @prettyblackstoner ☺️. My boyfriend uses it too. I’d recommend.

Holy grail facial cleanser. Literally removes everything, no smell or color. It's clear and does not create a single issue within my skin. Great for all skin types, and lathers quite nicely. Great price for a big bottle! I will use this for the rest of my life.

Made my skin feel greasy and made me break out. I normally need gentle products like this for my sensitive, acne-prone skin but this did not do it for me. Increased by cystic acne and made me shiny throughout the day. Would not recommend unless you want a cheap drugstore face wash.
