it works really well maybe a little bit sensitive but I like it

Modern features make this the best radar detector I’ve ever owned…I’m very impressed by the distance covered…many features…I’m still learning though the default settings are best choices for me…I like it…

Instructions are very clear and detector is easy to use. This one is much better than anything Cobra offers. The name fits as it does detect at a long distance.

It works great !!!! I didn't realize how many cops I drive by until I got this detector, and what's even better it gives you a long range warning.

seems to work. no complaints so far. will see if it saves me in yhe future though

This is the first radar detector I ever owned, I think it will be the last I will ever own. It has everything you need: extreme long range, quick reactivity to instant-on, gps lock-outs, and filtering. I will give you some of my stories with this radar. 1) I got a detection 1.8 miles away, but it was the best 1.8 mile detection. The terrain was HORRIBLE alot of hills up and down and of course, terrian is one of the biggest factors that decide how long the range is. 2) I have gotten instant-on at night when I was almost about to hit the gas pedal hard at night because I was sleepy. Without that instant on warning i was really going to get a ticket. And turns out the highway patrol was right behind me(I knew that when he then passed by me; you could barely even tell it was a highway patrol as the markings were hard to see because it was a black car with grey markings) 3) The K Band saved me from those police speed cameras(the movable ones they put down the street). Thats it for stories but let me tell you guys two things: 1) Do not speed at places where there is no cars because then you can get instant on and there is no way you can beat it. 2) I have heard that there is a uniden r7 coming out this April 2019 with about the same things that the r3 has. But the one coming out will have auto-lockouts and arrows. It will retail for 599$ so maybe if you want to wait and get one with arrows?

After getting flustered with random false alerts and undetected true alerts from my Whistler, it was time for an upgrade. I decided upon the R3 due to its step up of Ka detection over its counterpart, the DFR7, and its lockouts, as I drive a lot in a college town. I’ve only had this for a week, and it’s already well worth the price tag. Don’t get fooled with the quiet ride that you get. The effective BSM filters make my previous RD look like a junkyard item, while both of the Ka bands I just received were from the law, just as I was tempted to put the pedal while driving late at night. Its ergonomic controls and sleek design the screen settings that can match your car or your fav color also make it very stylish and sturdy on the windshield. Plus the box is cool and makes you feel empowered! ;) LOVE LOVE LOVE MY R3 AND CANT WAIT TO SEE WHERE THIS THING WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE ME!

Seems like a good detector. Really like its smaller size vs. the 360max. Does a good job of filtering out false alarms such as blind spot monitors equipped on newer vehicles. Nice that you can turn off X Band and reduce the sensitivity of K Band for city driving. GPS connects quickly, even in my garage. Picks up Ka band long before you see the source. Would be nice to have directional arrows but if that means a larger case, then skip the arrows. Very easy to lockout known false alarm sources just by pressing the mute/dim button twice. I hard wired the detector to my Ford Fusion and was even able to re-use the RJ11 cord that I had been using for my RX65 detector (nice that Uniden, Escort, and Beltronics all use a RJ11 with the same 12V pinout). I used a permanent windshield mount that uses two way tape to attach to the windshield, available for under 10 on eBay and something I highly recommend for a neat installation.
