I tried the original once a few years ago but don't remember a lot about it but remember it was a bit masculine for me. This version is very unisex, more wearable. It reminds me of the rugged northeast coast. It is beachy but not tropical. It's a citrus, sage and salt on clothes, on skin it's softer a little reminiscent of lavender, sage and salt not much citrus. It's a easy wear, clean, outdoorsy scent.

This is a wonderful fragrance. I would say its very close to the Wood Sage and Sea Salt from Jo Malone. The JM fragrance is stronger initially and lasts maybe 2-3 hours overall. This Dossier fragrance seems a little bit lighter and is just a little bit sweeter on the initial spray. I have both fragrances which is why I can tell. Otherwise the dry down is almost the same and the Dossier fragrance lasts a little longer! This is 100% worth it! I really love this fragrance . This will always be in my collection. I love JM but this fragrance is just a little bit better. The scent, the price and how long it lasts.

This fragrance is such a pleasure on its own that I haven't had the heart to layer it with anything else. Dossier did a masterful job of matching Woody Sage to Jo Malone's Wood, Sage, and Sea Salt that I could not be happier to douse myself in this all day without guilt. This is a rich smell with wood and seaweed notes and fresh air by the sea. It is definitely aquatic, but more sophisticated than days at the beach with suncreen and tans. It's more like end of summer night walks on the coast with a cool breeze with salt on your skin. Love it to death.

I have been such a perfume snob for years and thought that I'd be able to instantly tell the dossier dupes from the real thing, but I sprayed my Jo Malone on one wrist and the dossier on the other and it's ridiculous how on point these dupes are. There's the slightest difference and to be honest I think I like the dossier version better.

If you like smell of figs, definitely try this perfume. Since Jo Malone cannot stand for a long time, this cheaper substitute is a great replacement so that you can spray more and frequently. I love to use it in the summer with additional citrus perfume. Try it!

All I can say is wow. I recently purchased a travel and full size bottle of Jo Malone Wood Save & Sea Salt after falling in love with it off of a fragrance sample. The travel size tan out quickly (I am constantly traveling for work) and with the price of the bottle, I took a chance on Dossier thinking at the very least, the cost was low enough to risk it not smelling the same. Oh my gosh. I couldnt believe just how exact the scent is to the name brand. I mean, I even had my boyfriend smell it without knowing and he was shocked. 100% recommend.

Love all the scents I received, but scent does not last. And when I spray a bunch on my clothes, you wouldnt be able to smell it after 10minutes unless you put your nose right up to the sweater to sniff and smell. Would not be buying again, as its a waste of money when scent doesnt last longer than 10mins

For something that is named woody sage, I would expect something that smells like herbs. This smells like grapefruit rinds. If you like that, this is a good scent. It smells fresh and clean, but I don't want to smell like grapefruit, especially when I'm spraying something called woody sage.

Overall I'm really happy with this! I'm not familiar with the scent it's based on so I can't compare the two, but this smells lovely. It's a perfect spring/summer scent that is light and fresh. My only complaint is that it does fade very very fast on me. I'm not too mad about that because it is so affordable. I just have to reapply it often.

I really enjoy this scent. It's herby and fresh. Slightly masculine compared to my other perfumes but super comforting. It doesn't project super strong on me but it does last. And I experiment with layering it with other perfumes. I really like Jo Malone perfumes but they're very expensive. I haven't smelled the original to know how closely they compare.
