I was surprised, but I prefer it over black opium. Both are pretty sweet but black opium smells a little sweeter to me and the coffee note smells stale and chemical. I dont get a coffee note out of Dossiers version. Its heavy on the vanilla compared to what I usually gravitate toward, but its well balanced and a really nice everyday scent. This was my first dossier perfume, will be coming back for more.

I have everybody fooled. I get compliments left and right.They honestly believe I'm wearing the actual designee perfume. When I'm out places I get compliments all the time asking what am I wearing.Co workers were asking where did I buy my perfume and bought some even.You'll love this stuff. I bought 5 different scents and loved them all.

Wow! You know how you feel when you walk in the room and you can smell mom's vanilla on the stove simmering in a pot with orange slices and cinnamon sticks! Well, you get all this is a bottle and more with the essence of so many other warm blends.I found myself spraying the fragrance in my diffuser, on pillows, and on some of the clothes in my closet. I just couldn't get enough. It's contagious and addictive.

First I still have to say that I love Dossier. Just because I thought this scent was uber boring vanilla scent doesn't mean that Dossier isn't fabulous. I can't wait to try their new original genderless collection. I am just not impressed by YSL Black Opium but I find that sometimes Dossier perfumes are better than the original so I tried this one and it just wasn't for me so I exchanged for Fruity Almond which I just love. If you like YSL Black Opium you will probably like this, just was not for me, too boring. Sorry Dossier, still love you though. Also Floral Lavender which is Dossier dupe for YSL Libre is just lovely, much better than the original so there's that too.

Just for some context, I review fragrances for a hobby, so I am not a newbie when it comes to smelling fragrance notes. That said, I was expecting this to at least smell like the name Ambery Vanilla but it didnt even smell mostly like that.. I dont get any coffee note either and I roast coffee for a living, so I know what coffee smells like... anyways, this smells mostly like a creamy, slightly vanilla-y PATCHOULI scent

In the beginning I was a little hesitant on purchasing these dupe scents due to other brands having this same concept & them not smelling like the real scents, but the three that I have purchased have been amazing. I am in love with all of the ones that Ive chose so fat. I will continue to buy more & see what others I love !! Definitely try these scents if youre scared to commit to the high price perfumes or if youre like me & run you through your perfumes because you want to live in your scents

I had never smelled black opium before, so this was a blind purchase. It was too strong for me, but Ive been told by friends that the Dossier version smells just like YSL. So much like their other scents I have tried they get a 10 out of 10 for replicating the original!

They used to call it "Floriental Vanilla" when I ordered it back in June 2021. Regardless of the name now, this scent is exactly like YSL Black Opium. You can apply liberally as the price is awesome. I love the classy packaging and bottle of Dossier products. I have purchased 8 products since 2021. When you're addicted to perfume, Dossier is the way to go!

ive never smelled black opium, so i cant compare this scent to it at all, LOL. im also not a huge perfume nerd (apologies to the perfume nerds), so i cant distinguish specific notes, but this perfume smells SO nice. its such a comforting smell- i will say, when it first goes on the ambery/cedarwood notes are pretty strong. that being said, they arent horribly strong or nauseating (which is a win since i have migraines); just a bit intense. as it dries down, the vanilla comes out more and makes you smell like a warm hug. i usually gravitate towards either vanilla or more androgynous musky scents, so this was a bit out of my comfort zone, but i really like it! i definitely think ill buy this again after i run out. :)also- i like the amount that goes on with just one spray, and how long the scent itself seems to last.
