The product works as well as previous iterations, which is pretty good. But as soon as you stray off the well-trodden path the help gets confusing and contradictory. And forcing users to run Windows 11 is outrageous, there is no apparent need for it. And pushing users to use the online version is a bridge too far. Next year I will be taking a closer look at alternative software and may or may not continue with Turbo Tax. It's not a bad product but there's a limit to how much of the tax code you can support in software.

For as long as TurboTax has been specializing in tax preparation, I expect a better product. It's not all that easy to use. I don't like being up-sold constantly, hit up for free community help in a baiting manner such as referring to me as a "hero", and I think e-filing to my state should be included. I don't like inputting my account credentials to get financial data. Some other mechanism needs to be developed. How about using AI to read 1099 PDFs? The help system isn't very good, and the chat bot needs improvement as well.

I've been using TurboTax for many years, but this year I got no CD, and I found it very difficult to transfer data from the 2024 TurboTax file stored on my computer. I felt as though I was being forced, by your software, to use the online vs the desktop option. It took me hours of screwing around before it seemed to me that I was getting the same ease of use from the 2025 software version as I had become used to when using prior years CD based software. I will likely not be using TurboTax again.

We use the Premier for residential rentals and the depreciation was held up. We signed up for updates to advise when it was ready. We did not get an updates until I went into the community to see if that was helpful. I took some time but I thought the comments meant it was ready and it was.

I had to install windows 11 to be compatible. I was not thrilled about that. I had saved the last 7 years of turbo tax shortcuts on my desktop, but they vanished in the upgrade process. I can find the appropriate files in my document folders, but when I try to open them the applications offered to do that all choke on the assignment.

I use TurboTax as I am very familiar with the program (many years usage). I trust the accuracy of the program and I love the feature to go to forms. I also really like the ability to print to PDF files. I really like the software running on my own computer. I do not want to use something that runs on a server.

The overall functionality of this year's TurboTax desktop product was very good. One item that could be improved is guiding a user to enter their IP PIN if they require one, explaining that this is different from the PIN a user chooses prior to filing. Not understanding this created a great deal of confusion for me and resulted in my return being rejected multiple times.

I've used the Desktop version for the past two years and have been unable upload the previous year's return successfully. I would like to understand what I need to do to facilitate the upload. I've saved all the documents, but when attempting to upload, the error message states the file is to BIG?

The CA state return walkthru is poor. For such a large state I would expect it to be more like the Fed. The MA was somewhat better when I used to use that. There is not a good way to track your accrued interest for bonds which would be nice. Or at least asking about it. And charging $25 for e-file a state return is robbery. NY may have a lot of problems but outlawing this seems appropriate.

Was very easy working with this year's product. Investment information upload is a great feature. I had one problem with entering RMD information. I had to divide the RMD amount between the IRA distribution to me and the QCD. There was no instruction on this.
