It would be great if TurboTax fixed the following: 1) TurboTax automatically assumes that any HSA distributions were taken for medical expenses incurred in the same tax year as the distribution. That is not always the case and makes it impossible to reconcile with state tax filings that do not follow federal tax laws (like California). PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. 2) The instructions for entering foreign tax withholding (in my case for dividends) is incorrect. I had to read several articles and watch a couple of YouTube videos in order to enter this correctly (at least I was able to do so eventually).

I've used Turbo Tax for decades, but no more. The quality has steadily declined. It is basically just the forms and the help is useless. The price is high and their fees are too much especially given the poor quality. I've decided to use a local accountant who will do it for me and e-file it for less than this tax software. By the way, the Intuit sign-in is enough to drive a person insane. NEVER AGAIN!!

Between the IRS and Congress I guess that TT did about as well as could be expected, but a Friggin 56 PAGE BOOK is beyond ridiculous. Howsomeever, your AI handling of my 1099-B saved the day. That "investment" stuff is so far above my pay grade that I would have never made the 15 April deadline without hiring an accountant. Now that I have learned how to tweak the navigation around multiple 1099's on a single property, I'll probably use TT again next year.

Federal is fine. Arizona is not. (1) Filing for a deceased person, but the form doesn't give place for preparer; rather, it populates "self-prepared." And it shows occupation as "retired" when in fact the person is deceased. (2) Also, AZ form lines 29a and 29b are exclusions that the TurboTax program doesn't allow for. TurboTax requires me to include those line items in a separate form for other adjustments, where the AZ form does not call for that. (3) Also, the new enhanced senior deduction of $6000 is added into that "other adjustments" total, but is not reflected in a separate line item, so it looks like I am simply adding $6000 with no justification. VERY disappointed with AZ turbotax

The third-party access authorization process was not clearly explained and required several trial error steps for me to complete the process properly. Reporting interest paid on my HELOC was frustratingly difficult. The IRS does not require lenders to issue 1098 if interest paid in the year is <$600. The software said intructions say: "if you have not received a 1098, request one from your lender." I contacted Turbo Tax for assistance on the HELOC process; the agent, Kristy, was very helpful but did not know how to resolve the issue. After spending several hours, again trial & error, I was able to input the information and complete the return with no errors reported and the information reflected as appropriate. I strongly suggest review and improvement to input of HELOC interest payments when the IRS does NOT require the lender to issue a 1098.

From installation crashing bugs to help pages with abundant dead links, it's clear this company is relying too much on AI with almost no quality control. I'll be taking my business elsewhere next year. This has been one of the most painful tax filing experiences ever, all due to the new turbotax experience.

Whatever changed from 2024 (and previous years) to 2025 TurboTax made it confusing, and I had problems trying to download information from Fidelity. I've used TurboTax for 20+ years, but my experience this year has me considering to find another tax software.

Does not adequately support PA tax program where you require the end user to determine how to treat capital gains. Does not allow for the inclusion for electronic filing of documentation that PA requires for 1099R forms and detail for capital gains.

Wasn't as easy to use online vs the desktop version. I started wt online but quickly realized uploading last year's TurboTax pdf was easier. If once I signed in, it populated last year next to this year like the Desktop version does, I would like it. I would like to try online next year

I've been using this product for 20+ years, and every year they try o make cute little tweaks, assuming that people are stupid. Maybe they are. There are endless pages that you answer "no" to, and when you go through a section those questions still pop up. There are lots of little glitchy errors. The "mark estimated" option appears to no longer exist. This was great if you didn't have some paprwork handy but didn't want to stop the whole proess to look for it.
