Disappointed.

Greatly disappointed with this year's (2025) software. Whole sections never worked (ie Social Security - had to enter everything manually), at first transfer from previous year didn't wok, in the end, felt uncomfortable concerning the accuracy of the computations. Went ahead anyway. I've used Turbo Tax for perhaps 30 years ... never had so many issues with it.

Good but with Flaws Needing Correction

I've been a TurboTax user for approximately 20 years and I'd like to suggest two improvements. (1) I'm a single, senior taxpayer with most of my income through dividends and capital gains. I'm frustrated by TurboTax in that I can't actually see how my tax is calculated. The tax is not calculated from a standard table and I've never found a worksheet where you show the calculations. I'm left in the dark about knowing how my tax due was calculated and whether it's accurate. (2) I have never gotten through your foreign tax credit calculation without the final check showing an error. It appears that TurboTax doesn't auto-fill some of the lines in Form 1116, especially 1a and 3a - 3g, for which it already has the information. The definition of some of those lines is obscure, so if you're not going to auto-fill them, you need to provide clearer definitions for the user. I would be happy to speak with any of your people about this. /// Thank you

Navigation is Frustrating

I was an accountant for 25 years and used the professional version of Turbo Tax. Since I retired, I use the Premier version and have noticed over the past couple of years this program is getting harder to navigate. I have been trying to finish my return today and have had an awful time trying to get past Capital Asset Sales Entry Worksheet because when I check the last box and try to leave the page, the "x" disappears. I cannot make it stay where it is supposed to be. I have paid for E-file on my state which I now cannot use and must print out and mail my return after I have worked half the day to make this program work. If I want to talk to someone to find out if there is anything else I can do, I have to pay for the time which is not tax related. I have never been so frustrated and will not purchase this program again.

Forms view needs better UI

1) In the forms view, e.g. looking at the 1040, I click on a box to see where the amount came from, and it takes me to a long worksheet with no indication of where among the hundreds of lines is the one pertinent to the box I clicked on, 2) While going through the filing process, I have to enter the routing number and account number four times each. I understand the need for security and checking for typos, but couldn't there but a button on the state setup that says to use the numbers I just entered for the federal?

this year has been ROUGH!

Typically, I'd give Turbo Tax 4 or 5 stars. I've used it for over 10 years. This has been by far the worst experience I've had. I was prompted to upgrade to Premier many times and after not being able to figure out how to add in investment information, I caved, bought Premier, and called the help line. The people I interacted with were great, but not a single solution was easy. I'm still not done and am having to file an extension because of what appears to be a system bug. Just now in submitting another return for a family member, the program has crashed twice.

Fixing errors from the checking tool s not fun

When I had to correct errors on the form that the checker tool identified, mainly missing recipient's address, city and zip code (due to the incomplete form import) or the determination of investments being digital vs. non-digital assets, I had to correct 392 errors by clicking each attribute one by one, which took over an hour. There should have been a bulk update on the same type o responses.

Support navigating system, and helpful suggestions

I have been trying for 2 days to correct an entry on a 1099-R form with no success. I have found no way to ask a question on how to do this. Today, I had to file for an extension of Federal and State returns. The Federal extension went smoothly, and I was directed to go to my State return to file for an extension. When I click on the State return, it simply tries to run through my entries again. I NEED HELP!! I have less than an hour and a half. Thanks

Arbitrary Paywalls and Buggy Software

Despite having the Premium version, the software logic is deeply flawed for residents of non-tax states. As a New Hampshire resident, I am forced to download a "blank" NH module, which effectively consumes the "one free state" credit included with the software. When I try to file in a state where I actually have a non-resident obligation, I am charged an additional $45 for the download plus e-filing fees. Furthermore, the desktop version is buggy. Attempting to move my return to a second computer as it comes with 5 installations, it resulted in an endless "download NH" loop that blocked all progress. Buggy, expensive, and frustratingly designed.

Easy Enough, but Interface Has Frustrating Bugs

Form is easy enough to understand and work through, until I was trying to input my interest and dividends income in the federal tax section. In the past it has given me the option of logging in/ linking my brokerage account, but this year it kept insisting that I re-log into the intuit account. Also there are some janky components in this section that made it so if I were trying to get to a certain page, it wouldn't give me the option unless I followed a VERY specific sequence. I ultimately had to manually input everything for this portion.

turbo tax is awsome

Don't need the expert advice, because turbo tax is very simple, ease of use, it interfaces with my banks and makes transferring information easier and W2 is a breeze to import the information , Also the features are so simple to use and never for 10 years had any audit issues, accuracy and support is the best, why need experts...
