It was a bit confusing when efilie both h the Fed 1040 and CA 540 income tax returns. I saved the forms in one file. Does Turbo Tax only send the IRS the IRS forms, or did they transmit my Federal and Cal forms to the the IRS? Also do I receive a second confirmation showing when the Fed and Cal Tax returns were sent to both taxing agencies?

Th is no guidance or clean way to handle interest paid by a foreign bank that does not have EIN. I spent two hours on this issue and finally AI figured out how to report it in a way EIN was not required. I had to go through several trials to delete the 1099 MISC form I had created and enter it in W2 section of the other reportable income.

I have been using Intuit tax desktop software since the early days of MacInTax. Never have experienced any problems or inaccuracies. I trust their products to be easy to use and up to date on all tax law changes. And I have for many years had returns with incomes in multiple states. As my tax returns have increased in complexity, I have moved up the scale of their various product offerings. While I think some of their add-on item pricing is a bit high, the convenience always wins out when it is time to actually file my returns.

I have used Turbo tax for many years and in the past have found it great to use to file my return. This year it was a disaster. I'm a retired CPA and now have mainly investment income. I found that part of the input hard to use. It was my understanding that I would receive e-filing of one state. I had to pay to get my return to e-file. I didn't realize my return didn't e-file until I never received a notification from my state. And my filing instructions reported that the return did e-file. Don't know if I will used it next year.

Got hung up entering a 1099-Misc I received from Gemini for Staking Rewards. When I entered it a 1099-Misc income it wanted to set me up as a business. I don't want to be a business. I googled for help and it told me to just enter it as Other Reportable Income which I did. Turbo Tax should ask "Is this 1099-Misc for Staking Rewards.....then just enter it as Other Reportable Income.....or something like that.

Overall, I really like TurboTax. However, I was disappointed in how it handled my 403(b) distribution, which as a pastor, was for nontaxable pastoral housing allowance. TurboTax did not allow me to add a clarifying statement to my taxes (i.e.- 1040SR, line 5c(3).) regarding why that distribution was not taxable. Hopefully, the IRS will not contact me asking me for additional information regarding that 403(b) distribution.

Everything good except a glitch on this item below. "Dependent Wks form is complete and filled out, associated Student Wk form is filled out and has dependent specified as a student for 2025 - High School (Secondary). People Wk for dependent has blank TP/SP Link that will not populate. Form flags this as an error, if you try to efile your return it requests that you fix this error before filing. If you try to bypass the error and efile anyway it will not let you."

I didn't care for the format changes made this year, as I was used to the previous format and the new step-through entry process kept making me feel that I missing things. Found myself going back to recheck entries. Also import from my e*Trade account never worked as I have a 2-step verification and it kept telling me that info returned from the institution said that I was entering incorrect login/password info. I was able to log in via my cell, so I knew that my entries were accurate.

Never again. Almost twenty hours to plug in info from nine pages. That means ONE number from nine pages. Too many times, the instruction was not clear and I had to guess what was meant. You can't do an idiot check with people who work the system. They know what you mean even if it's not clear to the average person. I used to work these products, Automated Systems, so I think I have input.

Your Premier Desktop does not allow for filing Kentucky State Tax online because of your system's inability to include in the online file a copy of the Federal Form 8582. This has gone on for two years. Therefore if you are not going to correct your programming we must switch to a different product. I've been a customer since Turbo Tax first year so I would like an answer to if you intend to correct the inability of a tax solution program to transmit a State Tax Return online as the State requires? Please no canned answer about having Turbo Tax do my return, not going to happen. The push to make people pay you to do returns is evident in your new design. The push to make people pay for "advice" is also evident as virtually nothing is covered by the "help" button. So just a YES or NO by next years product will you be able to transmit a Kentucky Individual Tax Return to the State of Kentucky with ALL required documents ONLINE? Also, your new design with the Comic Balloons and Quick Books look is terrible. Again, catering to people you don't have any financial background at all. The desktop version is ordered by people who have a little knowledge of accounting I would guess and don't need to be treated think a moron.
