Some suggestions

The HSA section was clunky and a bit circular, because I spent HSA dollars from a previous year (disbursement), but did not have an HDHP and did not contribute to an HSA in the 2025 tax year. Still, the main checklist kept prompting me to complete the section, even though I had done so. It was also not clear where some capital gains distributions were coming from or being captured. Finally, it would be very helpful if there was a printed summary page of charitable contributions, rather than multiple pages for each charity. I feel like this used to exist, but no more ... and that's cumbersome. As a DC resident (taxation without representation), it would have been helpful if there were more guidance on issues pertaining to OBBBA conformity (or nonconformity).

Turbotax was slow to have key sections available.

I most needed turbo tax early, - end of December till 15 Jan 2026 - in order to determine my tax liability for lump sum distribution of Social Security. Turbo Tax was not updated for key interfaces until end of January 2026. But the Federal Tax IRS information was also not complete as late as Jan 21, 2026 for IRA Distributions. Turbo Tax would not allow partial inputs for key elements in attempting to manage my liabilities for 2025. I framed my taxes manually early January in order to pay 4th quarter Tax payments. Early April, I returned to Turbo Tax and updated to finalize tax filing for 2025. The software hung up on the previous inputs accomplished in January. I completed my taxes manually. After complete, I started Turbo Tax over with a new file and it worked smooth. Generally the flow was good, with notes, recommendations, and explanations. Not having the forms available during the program made it difficult to follow some of the instructions. Bottom-line, Turbo Tax provided a good backup to my manually prepared forms.

import features need to be more front and center

i do like the push toward online, i prefer the desktop version. but everything seems to pushing toward online while the desktop did allow import from financial institutions, i had to find that on my own in the tool it should be more informative about that option and heavily integrate the import option in the interview questions

Overall good with a side of argh!

Have been a Turbo Tax user for many years. This year was a little odd. The investment income screen was very hard to understand. Since I have a number of accounts with one broker, the display on the screen provided no information on which account was which. The new "icon" display required scrolling the screen to see all of the account list. No identifying information other than the name of the source an DIV or INT, etc. The data import process was also buggy since it now accesses a web page. It required disabling firewalls, pop-up blockers, and reboots to take effect, then try again. The pop-ups arrived but were often obscured by other open pages. All this may be thanks to Windows 11 so it may just be our new reality. Overall, very pleased with the process and still have high confidence in accuracy.

Error Fix Loop, not inspiring

Generally good, but this year I got into a loop at the final steps where it said there were vague "errors", prompted me to click to fix the errors, then said there were still "errors" with no details saying WHAT the issue was. This cycle repeated multiple times, til I got sick of it and just clicked continue. It was an unnerving experience and gave me LESS CONFIDENCE in the software.

TurboTax- getting worse and worse every year

Every year Turbotax continues to get more and more frustrating. Endless popups to try to sell add ons. Poor directions. Forcing me through interviews I don't need. I am beginning to think I should switch to a different option or just pay a professional.

Unable to use Online version

I have a lot of trouble filling in Form 3840 (Like-Kind Exchange). I sold 2 properties, each in exchange for 2 other properties and the online version does not allow me to enter this properly. Due to this Im forced to use the desktop version where I can key in manually

TurboTax: Party Like its 1998

Sure feels more like 1998 when I use this software anymore. TurboTax has been doing it for so long, you would think it would be a more elegant exprerience in 2026. Yet the price is definitely 2026. In many ways it has gone backwards. You can tell different development teams worked on different parts of the software...it doesn't have the same look and feel throughout. And no...I won't use the online version. If I wanted to do online returns, I'd use TaxAct.

TurboTax is no longer awesome.

TurboTax this year was a bit of a disappointment and continues to drop off in quality and helpfulness from prior years. I think this is my 25th year using the program. I ran into several bugs even into late March and April that caused significant extra work and confusion. One was that TurboTax had no idea how to help me accurately enter a K-1 Partnership form. It incorrectly forced me to enter an S-Corp that didn't exist and I had to go into Forms to remove the inaccurately generated forms that resulted from interview screens I should have never been forced to visit. The import feature continues to be wonky at best, searching for etrade has zero results because e*trade is the name in Turbotax. TurboTax should be smart enough to offer e*trade as a possible match when etrade is searched. The flag feature is helpful to return to a topic, but unhelpful in that you can't mark a flag as complete without just deleting the flag. If I learn something else or realize i have more to add for a flagged item, it would be good to go back to it even after I thought I was done to double-check. Leaving it as an active open item flag can cause confusion and uncertainty, where a "completed" flag still keeps all of your notes and keeps your place to return back to it if you needed. The integration with an Intuit account for anything is such a pain. Why do I need to sign in to visit the public knowledge base? Search there isn't even too great, so I just asked my question in duckduckgo.com or a more helpful search rather than sign in to search to find no helpful answers from Intuit. Also the credit card process for paying for State e-file was so slow and laggy. It took me two tries to accomplish paying because it errored out the first time. Lastly, when e-filing on 4/14/2026, TurboTax defaulted my payment to be 3/15/2026. The text even said it would default to 4/15/2026 if filing before that date, but then didn't do that. Luckily I caught that, but just a lot of things like that this year where it seems like Intuit was constantly dropping the ball and expecting me to catch their mistakes which is disconcerting and fundamentally not why I use TurboTax.
