I used TurboTax successfully for many years, but the programs are buggy now. No support is available unless a fee is paid. I should not have to pay a fee to report a problem with TurboTax software and get assistance. Especially difficult was tax handling for IRA withdrawals for NJ. I finally had to print out the NJ-1040, white-out the incorrect numbers, write in the correct ones and mail the tax return. It wasn't possible to e-file. I use Turbotax to make filing my taxes easier not harder. AI support was useless and frustrating. I will be shopping around for new tax software for 2026 and may end up hiring an accountant if they're all as bad as TurboTax is now.

I have been a long time turbotax user and familiar with using the software. This year my return was more complicated by the sale of an out of state property. I found TT to be vague to the point I needed to use an external AI product to figure it out. Also, it let me pay to efle a state return and then wouldn't allow the return to be processed. The process for requesting a refund could not be more confusing. This may be the last time using TT, will let others know as well

after filling up all the data for fedral, it decided to upgrade and erased all the data. Stocks related info are terrible, although the file has all the info, this dumb software wanted me to enter everything. I don't understand why I paid $85 for this junk. It deserve 0 rating

It gets the job done but is often difficult to manage when issues crop up. For example, it wanted me to review something but would not take me to what needed reviewed until I finished and came to the looking for errors portion. I just kept getting a message that something needed reviewed.

Turbo tax was very easy to use. I liked all the feature available to me while preparing the return. The import function for W2's and Investment Statement and activity saves countless hours of time from having to manually input the information. And the auto fill linkage to your state return saves time. I also like the accuracy of TT alerting you of non-matching data, or non compatible data. Have use the product for many years, definitely recommend.

It would be helpful to make an explicit instructions for entering all countries with foreign income on a brokerage statement as a single entry for foreign tax credit purposes to avoid redoing forms from scratch after figuring out that only 1 entry per broker per country is allowed.

It gets harder and harder to use it. So many times it happens that you go back one step, and you have to repeat answering the same questions over and over again. Many things are completely unclear as to what they mean. I have never, ever entered anything about a farm, but I cannot get rid of it every year. The farm comes up every year. For our donations, this year we did not have access to the feature that helps enter the items and get an estimated value. We had to d it one thing at the time, a waste of time.

I have used TurboTax for years, first when my husband was self-employed and we had rental properties that we were managing. Our taxes are now a bit easier, without the self-employment income, but TurboTax has guided us through everything that had tax implications over the years, including a fire on our property, and now, retirement income. I can't imagine doing our taxes without TurboTax, since the hardest part is getting all the information together, which I'd still have to do even if I was having someone else prepare our taxes. And TurboTax for Mac OS has become more robust over the years as well. And TurboTax offers all the support you could need or ask for.

I had to call for support because you could not toggle between the "Step by step" and the "forms" without completely losing my place. For example I made and error in entering the RMD amount (because of lack of guidance) Saw the error on "forms" and could not get back to step by step to correct it. Working with the support person we finally found it after 20 plus minutes or so. The point is that it should not be necessary. I've using TurboTax since the 1980s and it has been harder to use during the last several years.For example, it is now very confusing to enter RMDs that have had partial distributions via Charitable Donations. There used to be questions about that to guide entering the data. Now I did not see that. I thought TurboTax kept a record from year to year of the "Basis" for my IRAs. Is that form 8606 or something like that. Now could not find it and Turbo Tax asked me for it ---- it is gone!

I've been using the TurboTax for so many years, but this year's TurboTax has so many defects or bugs, It's not friendly at all. Lots of pages indicated has Edit, Review, Delete, but there is no button or options to do so. I don't like this at all. When transferred from previous Tax return, some fields are miss matching. When deleted one Student dependent, then the next none student dependent will replace the deleted student dependent. It's so bad. Also took me so many hours to resolve different kinds of issues.
