TurboTax Premier - Desktop is THE BEST! Everything I need is right at my fingertips with explicit instructions and walk-me-through-it explanations and support! I've used Intuit TurboTax for YEARS, and I am so happy with their accuracy and how compatible it is with my needs! Their features line up with all my tax needs, and the interface is so easy to use! More complicated this year than last. Many more questions to answer with less clarity. Depth of explanations were shallow. Should have been easier with new tax changes from BBB, but not as straightforward as before. Had to dig out information to gain complete information on what was being required.

The product is generally excellent. I think it handles many tax situations very effectively and has a great user interface. I think in the near future, Agentic AI systems are going to make this software obsolete. It was a good run. I have two things: 1. I have complained about this every year so here goes again: please fix the problem where you can't upload two times from the same brokerage. I know I am supposed to clear my cache and reload the program, etc. but it still never works, and I always give up and have to type in the second one. I use the desktop version. This has been an issue for many years. Can you please fix it???? 2. There was a strange bug this year when I looked at the summary of 2024 deductions vs 2025 deductions. The 2024 deductions were all listed correctly but the total was off by around $20,000. It didn't seem like the number it was off was attributable to any of the figures in the list above, it was just a weird number.

Program tax calculations seem to be good. A bit disappointed as follows: Online version version is awkward. Can only build 1 set of tax forms per id. Can't use same email address for other accounts (ids). - - - - - - - THIS PRODUCT ---- (Desktop Premier) Prefer desktop version, like using 'Forms' mode 1) Lost Win 10 support for desktop version even with security updates. Had to update to Win 11. 2) Simple things: Credit card month dropdown does not work past 08. Took 3 tries. Had the SAME problem with 2024 version. Can only enter email address in personal wks using an override. Field is locked Can't check electronic filing without getting it flagged as an error (red)

turbo tax was giving me an error for data i put into my 1099r box 18. it was telling me that the data was to long for the box yet i was putting in the information provided on the form. Turbo tax would not submit my return unless i removed the info. Now there may be a discrepancy between the 1099 they receive and the one i submitted.

While accuracy and features are excellent, I always have problems with finding supporting data worksheets that track to my 1099s, lacking in hot links to supporting worksheets. Foreign taxes are impossible to understand and track, finding worksheets for capital gains and losses, vs capital gains distributions are difficult to trace. Multiple 1099s from the same payer significantly complicates things unless you modify the payees title. My state does not have an income tax but TurboTax does not accept that.

It took forever to get updated to a useable version this year. The ability to download information from financial institutions also came out late. The constant nagging to use the on-line version was irritating. I tried the on-line version and it didn't work at all. There are problems with the RMDs and my brokerage firm since they gave me two 1099R forms: one for my QCD and one for the withdrawal. I had to guess how to handle it. Also basic information like my name and address did not transfer.

This was the worst year with turbo tax ever. I am seriously considering purchasing another product next year. Complete your entire return, it locks up, and then disappears and I have to start all over. It doesn't save as you go. Screw the on line feature, use the desktop. I am truly p-off. I wasted so much time and energy to have everything disappear.

I'm unhappy with the way TurboTax handles the questions and form entries for 1099-Q and 1098-T forms. TurboTax intentionally chooses to make this confusing instead of asking directly if any withdrawals have been used for qualified expenses. Instead, TurboTax makes it likely that fully deductible withdrawals are treated as taxable income, when it should not be. Highly unfortunate and unnecessary!

This year I had issues initially with the program. I had to contact support for help. Support was helpful and got me on track. (had to uninstall and start over) With that said, too many extra hours of my time and it was a frustrating process. (This is my 6th year using Turbotax program and had no issues in the past.)
