Turbo Tax Product Owners should be ashamed

No matching of last year's imported 1099 documents to this year's. Offer to import records for every record, even though original import included everything. Doesn't remember which institution last year's records came from requiring new search. Need to ignore several screens clicking continue just to get to point to figure out if I could delete a record. Can't edit individual values without going through dozens of pages of flows. Editing individual values requiring re-entering dozens of hand-entered numbers. General incompetence of the UI.

FIND AN ACCOUNTANT

The worst ducking software that exists. Great idea but the number of upsells throughout, along with it promising that it will be able to efile but does not do it. Had to spend 2 hours with customer support to realize that if you need an attachment that needs to be included with your return, it won't Efile! Print it.

Good and could be better

This is the twice that I have had to get a new computer to run Turbo Tax. That does not make me happy! However Your support people are absolutely wonderful. When there is a problem of 3 items not adding up show all 3 and make any of them changeable.

Will not do the On-line version Again

Used TT for many years. This year I filed using on-line - should have done if off line. Found it very unwieldy. Several times I would close out to research something and reopen my file only to find no edits had been saved. Would fix errors that were flagged and still they would keep coming back as errors. Felt like I was being rushed through.

Data validation issue and form import issue

Data validation issue and form import issue...Import of 1099-DIV had errors with addresses that were not caught until final review and took two reviews to catch them all -- one was a checkbox not filled and then recipient street and city were not filled in. There was data in the field all x'd out so could not tell what it was but just entered street and city. Even though city was telling me initially it also needed at least 1 letter. Just hope it caught everything and doesn't get rejected.

Meh!

1. When I want to save my 2025 PDF tax returns, TurboTax keeps sending me to my 2023 tax folder even though I change it to 2025 every time. 2. When I use the PDF Fill & Sign option on my PA PDF return to enter the date, the "SELF-PREPARED" text turns to garbage (it looks like Arabic text).

Turbotax going downhill

The software did not recognize mt daughters age of over 18 and put her as a dependent so my return was rejected. It also charged me for my state return and on was supposed to be included. Turbo Tax is not as dependable as i used to be. Everything is an upcharge.

TurboTax had an updating problem for this year

We had two issues for the 2025 tax season. 1. The March 18th update was problematic, so I had to completely uninstall the Windows application - and then re-install from scratch. 2. The importing from previous tax year's files showed a crazy spinning icon which took forever to complete. Please remove the time-wasting spinning icon that took considerable time to complete - and I could not move forward without it completing its function.

Problems with Form 1116

I've used TurboTax for many years. I'm increasingly getting frustrated with it, as my accounts have gotten more complicated. I have the Deluxe version which is supposed to be able to deal with investment income. The foreign tax credit interface is close to impossible to use. Once it creates Form 1116, I just go and directly input the data into the form, and there is still the possibility that the IRS won't accept the return. I'm seriously thinking about not using TurboTax in the future.

Could be better!

1. When comparing 2024 and 2025 data, sometimes the columns are 2024/2025; at other places, they are 2025/2024. This is confusing: it should be the same everywhere. 2. When TT asked whether I had any <financial presence> in a <list of foreign countries>, I answered "No" to all of them. However, on the very next screen, it wanted to know what my <financial presence> was in Canada. Huh?????
