Best Buy
We use these shelf units to store conservation-grade boxes of historic textiles. The shelves are easy to assemble, strong and sturdy, and the casters are high quality. The units hold considerable weight (textiles can be VERY heavy) and can be moved easily by one person. We have searched extensively and found that, for both quality and price, these units are the best buy on the market ...And that's important for a non-profit institution with a tight budget. Highly recommended.
Heavy Duty, very durable
We had this shelving unit in our garage. Our home was leveled in the May 20th tornado in Moore. The shelves were found, all in tact, wheels and all. We were impressed that it survived a disaster that destroyed our home and still in great condition....that speaks volumes for this brand and sturdiness.
Definitely worth the money
The box arrived damaged, completely torn open on one side so I was concerned there might be missing parts. Luckily, this wasn't the case. The rack is very strong and sturdy and I'm very pleased. Although assembly requires no tools, I found it a pain. Possibly, it would have been easier with 2 people. The clips that attach to the poles kept snapping off when the shelf was placed upon them. I ended up using a bit of strapping tape to keep them together. Once the shelves were on, the tape wasn't noticeable. An alternative to these plastic pieces might be a better idea, but overall, it's an excellent product.

Don't sell as new when it ihas been opened.
When I got package it looked like it had been to war. It had been opened and repacked. If your going to sell a repack give a discount.Had a bunch of plastic pieces in the box which I don't use anyway. It went together allright. The main thing was it being opened.
We are sorry for your experience with this delivery, Glen. Sometimes, transport agencies will tape or repair the box if it is damaged during transit. The plastic pieces were used as stacking material, not part of the assembly. Please know, this item carrys the Member's Mark 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and can be exchanged or returned anytime for a full refund.
Check the welds before loading the shelves
Shelves are not welded closed properly, meaning they will slide down past the plastic markers used to hold it up. Obviously not how it's supposed to work. Sam's Club Customer Service was no help either. The shelf weighs over 50lbs, but online support wants you to pack it up and bring it all the way back to your nearest club, rather than just replacing the defective part. Heck, even a partial refund for the defective shelf part would've been a better option. Someone's going to put a lot of weight on this shelf and it's going to either snap, crush or otherwise pin something when the shelf doesn't hold.
We are sorry to learn about this experience with the shelves, sloss. Please contact Member Support at (888) 301-0332 and they will assist you with obtaining a replacement.
GREAT shelving, a few glitches in assembly
I bought three of these to make 2 units with 9 shelves each. I bought them to store specific items -- DVD/CD boxes that hold literally thousands of back-up and home-made DVDs and CDs -- after searching what seemed like FOREVER to find something suitable that didn't cost a fortune. (I was actually considering having a carpenter build me custom shelving, but that would have cost close to $2,000!# I took a chance on these because they were inexpensive and I knew I could use them in my garage if it turned out they didn't work for the DVD boxes. Well, they work GREAT! #See photo!# The only negatives, and they are minor, is that assembly of the first one was a bit of a pain. The instructions tell you to screw together the poles that form the frame, then screw in the wheels, then put on the shelves. The problem is, if you are assembling these yourself -- no helper! -- this won't work, as it will be almost impossible to get the shelves over the very high poles with the legs wobbling all over. #You can lock two of the legs, but that wouldn't help much -- the first shelf is the hardest to get on as the poles of course are not really a "frame" until something is on them!) After following instructions, I realized that wouldn't work, so I took off the wheels and separated the 4 full-length poles into 8 half-poles (as they come). THEN I was able to get the first shelf on over the plastic clips, and then the second, etc. After I had four shelves on, the unit was quite stable, and I was able to screw in the 4 half-poles to make the top half. I added the rest of the shelves, THEN propped the whole thing against my basement wall to put on the wheels, one side at a time. It wobbled a bit when I was putting the 3rd and 4th wheels on, but it wasn't really an issue as the unit was VERY stable with all the shelves. I had no problem with the plastic clips -- once they "click" into the line where you want them (I just counted lines to make sure they were even), they held fast as I loaded the shelves. One tip for assembly: don't assemble them until you are sure what you will store on them. Yes, you can disassemble and reassemble them, but that won't be too fun -- better to know what you will be storing at the start and plan your shelves accordingly. Taking 15 or 20 minutes to plan first will likely save you a lot of aggravation later. And one last thing. These units come with 6 shelves PLUS the shelf liners, which a lot of the units don't come with if you buy them elsewhere. I didn't really NEED the liners for my purposes, but they are nice to have for the future if my needs change. Overall, a GREAT purchase at an amazing price. I plan to buy the corner unit and some more of these as well for my garage. I am so impressed with them!
Exactly what I needed for my Pantry
I bought several of these to finish out my kitchen pantry. Relatively easy to assemble, definitely requires two people. My husband and I had three of them assembled and put into place in about 45 minutes. Very stable, easy to level, love the adjustable shelf aspects. Strong too. I have 3 more for in my garage, not assembled yet.
Great storage racks
I love that they come with wheels and how solid they are. They are a good value for the money. At other stores, they have something similar for the price, but do not contain the nice caster wheels. I like to use them as plant stands to start seedlings in the spring with four shelves set up for enough space for the lights and seedlings for each shelf. I hang 4' shop lights for light and have all the plugs plug into one power strip I mount up high on the rack with zip ties so water doesn't get into it. Since the racks are 4' long, the 4' shop lights it perfectly.
Only decent
On average, 1-2 shelves in each box has a won't fit well on all 4 corners. It's because the welding connecting the shelves to the cylindrical sleeves that go around the pole is of spotty quality. The welded material sometimes jets out into where the pole should be - either preventing the shelf from going on the pole, or making one of the corners not fit evenly. In a couple cases, there was a corner with the cylinder not fully closed, making it too loose to hug the connectors. Also, please read the description / packaging carefully: the allowed load is GREATLY reduced if wheels are used instead of the stationary feet.
Wrong measurements
These shelves are actually 47 inches wide, 45 inches between the poles if you plan to use storage containers and slightly less than 18 inches deep, with only 15.5 inches between the poles. I have to either return the shelves or get smaller storage totes
We are sorry the shelving isn't right for you. Please note the assembled dimensions for this shelving are 47.75” W x 18” D x 72” H (75.5” H on 3” wheels).
