My preteen is in between sizes, so I sized up with a pair of khakis and a pair of dark wash. He told me the waist is adjustable, so he was wearing them right away. Glad he enjoys them.

Too short for my liking. Not for tall boys

My son is happy with these shorts. He just turned 12 and has this particular way with clothing now. Not drab or to new looking is his preference. They're not to short or heavy for our weather, which can average daily at 107' in another couple weeks. Dress up or down. Washes well and I hang dry till just moist and toss on the permanent press cycle. Our son is very tall and thin for his age, he likes the adjustable straps inside the waist area.
