it was better last year. the online version was defective

The Best

This could be my last year using any version of TurboTax.  There were so many bugs it made preparing challenging and frustrating.  Some examples:  Insistence on choosing standard deduction.  After trying to change it, the overview page continued to say, Standard chosen.  You had to continue and look at the details to see that itemized deductions were applied.  Another: Tried to print my CA state taxes for mailing but TurboTax instructions said I e-filed state taxes and the version that printed was not suitable for filing. 

I tried the on-line version and hated (1) constant upselling (2) the dumbed down interface. I switched back to desktop. The same bug with the standard / itemized deductions was in both formats

Worst year ever for desktop version

it was easy and quick - I was able to get help while working on my taxes if i needed.  this is my 15th year using turbo tax and i love it.  easy enough for the beginning because it guides you through the process with ease.  if guidance is needed it is quickly available.
