Printed instructions in combination with the BILD app were well thought out. We suggest that moving the partly-built pergola, setting the feet, moving the pergola off the feet, anchoring the feet, and moving the pergola back on the feet, would be more easily accomplished before the slotted cross-beams are put in place. All in all, this was a worthwhile project, and we're pleased with the look and quality of the pergola.

I've had the pergola built for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. Its sturdy and heavy but also easy-ish to put together. Realistically you should have at least two people building one pergola. I would budget about 5 hours with two people to put it together completely. Overall great pergola, very happy with the purchase!

Skipping ahead (past a flimsy aluminum pergola that failed in the strong winds), I came across a 12X16 cedar pergola kit that seemed too good to be true. It wasn't! So after spreading out all the fragrant cedar pieces under my carport, I set about learning how to pour cement piers so I could transform an unused portion of my backyard into a relaxing home vacation spot. The instruction book was concise and easy to follow. All of the hardware was included, even with a few spares. The wood pieces were all cut perfectly. Only a couple of the top boards were warped, but by carefully tightening their bolts all the warp disappeared. I could have easily called for replacements, but didn't need to. When I first looked at all the parts and my untidy dirt area, I was skeptical. But carefully going through the instructions I was able to build this beautiful wooden pergola for which I constantly get compliments. As you can see, I have not even built a deck or poured a slab yet, but it is already being enjoyed. Oh yes, and those 4 heavy 400 watt solar panels that started it all now rest neatly on top, providing shade and free power. It's the good life!

We bought this last fall and it is beautiful! Gorgeous stain color and easy assembly with the BILT app!! It has transformed the entire feel of our backyard space! Plus the company is so amazing and responsive! We bought another version in white galvanized steel for our lake house and it is amazing too! Great value for your money!

Easy to assemble, almost completely by myself. (My wife helped to hold the sub-assemblies while I braced them) but otherwise easily a one-man job. I used 11X12X12 concrete piers for my foundation since my location is just on gravel over dirt. I added some roll-up shades and also added some sun screening material on the top for additional shade. Our Arizona summers are brutal and this definitely extends our outside time by at least a couple of months.

Everything was very easy to install, I actually did the whole thing by myself (2 people would be faster and safer, but nothing is too heavy to do alone). One piece was broken in delivery, contacting about replacement but didn’t stop me from getting the job done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased and put together all on my own this spring 2023, NO missing parts, extra hardware and tools included, simple directions (if you like legos - this is a snap). Overall very solid, I pre coated everything with wood sealer prior to assembly. The corbels were a bit tricky to line up with the pre drill positions but a few 36" wood clamps fixed that simple enough. Nothing but compliments from friends and neighbors.

At first we thought that the building of this pergola would take forever with all the pieces , but the instructions on the app that’s provided made the process go smoothly. We love the cedar wood and the looks of this pergola. We were happy to have every piece and tool that we needed. The only negative we had was that not all of the holes were clean. We used a screwdriver to clean them and chipped some of the wood around them. Other than that great product. My husband wants a second one.

I bought this a year ago, May of 2020. All pieces were included and well marked. Based on other reviews we put a clear oil based seal on before putting the pergola together - based on 1 year in use we will likely add another coat this summer. It still looks good but to continue to preserve the wood we will add another coat. This definitely requires 2 people to put it together and sometimes it would have been helpful to have 3 people. I would purchase it again - it's been a nice addition to the patio and provides some shade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Put this up in July before my husband’s retirement party. Makes my backyard look like a beautiful garden! Took two days for us to put it up. Really just a large Lego set - hardest part was digging footings in the clay.
