I buy a lot of forks
1 out of 5 stars review

From 5 stars to 1 due to new supplier

I have purchased thousands of forks from Sams Club since 2006. I’m a professional mentalist and bend forks in my performances. Previously these forks were perfect and I’d buy them by the hundreds. There are two ways dinner forks are constructed, by casting it with a single piece of metal, or by stamping two pieces together. When it is cast by one piece, it is durable, sturdy, but also doesn’t shatter when bent. This is how they used to be. Back when they were branded as Daily Chef then switched to members mark. The new supplier stamps the forks. This means they don’t bend, they break instead of bending. This is bad for anyone who has a family restaurant because if a child bends the fork, it will break and possibly cut the child with the sharp edges. These forks also no longer work for me because I cannot bend them without them breaking. Imagine, there are thousands of forks out there with Sams Club’s label Members Mark sitting on desks and shelves. That’s free advertising. There will be 10,000’s more over the years if you bring back the old supplier. I’m currently looking for a new supplier, because I’m down to about 60 forks left from the old supplier. I tried to purchase some from Sams after taking a break during the pandemic, and they just don’t work anymore. So… These forks are cheap, but if you have a family friendly restaurant, do not get these forks until they go back to how they were a couple years ago. It seems reading these reviews, all the other complaints would also be resolved.

Good for everyday use

These are a great buy. When I checked around and saw another on-line company had them for $13.86 each plus shipping, it didn't make sense to buy from them. Besides it was for a donation and Ronald McDonald house uses a lot of these. I can buy at Sam's Club on line, and they also have them in the store. It's helpful all around.

These are great dinner forks for the money!

I purchased a pack of the Bakers & Chefs stainless steel dinner forks a couple years ago, at my local Sam's Club. There's 36 dinner forks in a package. I was a little skeptical at first, dinner forks for around 18 cents a piece! They are made in china, but so is a lot of the other things we buy! The dinner forks feel just like any other dinner fork. They look exactly like the dinner forks used in schools, hospitals and restaurants. We've been using these dinner forks everyday for the last 2 years, and have ran them through the dishwasher dozens of times. The dinner forks still look as good as they did 2 years ago. They seem to be just as strong as any other dinner fork that I've used. There's no reason to spend more for a dinner fork that will be used everyday. I would definitely recommend purchasing these dinner forks. Sam's Club also sells matching knives, spoons and soup spoons. There's several websites that sell the same brand dinner forks, but want more than twice as much for them! I think the average person will be more than happy with these dinner forks!

Very disappointed in this.. i understand you get what you get for the price. However this is worse than the dollar store silverware. Yhe edges of the forks are sharp as well as the spoons, they are so light and thin. not returning because i already washes them

Fork it over! These are the ones.

There is a charity in Sacramento, that needs forks for its dining service. It is difficult to find quality forks, that last, and clean properly in the dishwasher. These are the ones, and they can be purchased separately (you don't have to buy spoons, or knives to go with them). And more importantly for charities, and those who donate.... The price is right.

Not pleasant to hold, rough edges and too thin

These aren't very good forks in my opinion. They are pretty thin and all the edges are squared and a little sharp while holding. They just don't feel good when they're in your hand since the edges are rough. They aren't rounded on the edge like better quality flatware is.

Second time I have bought them

Love these forks. They are light weight so if you have problems with your hands they work great.
