I never leave reviews. And I'm the person that wondered why people say that. I assumed it's either because they may be trying to persuade someone either or way, who may be on the fence about buying a product. They are satisfied or dissatisfied. In this case, I am highly satisfied. The pergola is great. A few minor cracks in one of the 4 main corner posts, due to shipping I am assuming. I didn't call or complain, I didn't notice to I had put it up. It should be okay. I bought 2 months ago. It's been up a month now. Took about 7 hours over two days. I did alone. I had my wife to the corner post once I stood each side up. I attached all the separated parts together first in the garage. Then moved to the outside to set up. Went very smoothly. Shipping was surprisingly fast. (1 week from purchase to delivery) Assembly was relatively easy. I put it together myself, with a little help from my wife and son when it came to installing the main joist beams. Finished structure was a little wobbly. But I chalk this up to the lightweight, soft, wood, and the manner of design which enables the whole thing to be hand delivered to your front door. (Main joists, which are comprised of three pieces bolted together, have a little too much play.) I did a couple of simple structural additions to firm up its integrity. We also added a shade cloth attached to the underside of cross joists. We did not use the top 2x2’s (intended for shade) as most were warped. We liked the idea of the cloth more anyways. All in all, for the cost, look (and easiness of constructing), we are very pleased.

Great product when it finally arrived.(shippers fault) read assembly instructions at least once before beginning. One person can easily do up to step 3. Personally I would recommend anchoring the unit after step 4. It’s much easier to handle being lighter. Then add the rest of the wood. Directions were superb, good hardware and tools and wrenches supplied. A well engineered product.

I bought this pergola late last summer and it was put up later in a raised area. I'm very pleased with it, as it looks fantastic. A few people passing by in vehicles have slowed down and looked at it. As the decking around the pergola will be completed soon, I look forward to enjoying it for a long time to come. The instructions and labelling of the associated pieces were as clear as a bell. It is better for two people to put it up as it is rather heavy, but once it is installed, it is eye candy.

I wish I had looked into getting one of these sooner. I debated on whether to pay for assembly or not and went without, and it was not hard for my husband and I to assemble it ourselves. Now we and our whole family spend a lot of time out there. We do game nights, meals, hanging out. I was a bit worried about it during some storms but it wasn’t impacted at all.

We bought a 12x14 gazebo and two 12x14 pergolas to occupy our new concrete patio. We have always loved the ambiance of this look and finally found a quality product! We first sealed all of the wood. My husband built the gazebo in two days, the first pergola in 8 hours and the second pergola in six hours. The key was using two a-frame extension ladders. We’re thrilled with the finished project!!!

I bought this in spring 2024 and my husband and I installed it in February of this year. We had a concrete slab poured and attached the metal plates to it after building the pergola. This past weekend we had an EF-1 tornado come through our property, winds were estimated at 110 mph, this pergola is still standing and unscathed!!! We had 30 foot trees uprooted and thrown to the ground. We are very impressed with the quality and build of this structure, 100% recommend!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a nice gazebo down by our dock, where all the neighbors would get together. Then we were hit with hurricane Ian. During the 150 MPH winds and 12 foot storm surge we lost our gazebo. We searched high and low for a replacement. After one of our trips to Sam's we saw this pergola. We decided that this was just what we could use. We ordered it and hoped it would be as nice and better than what we had. Our neighbors, with my husband and I put it up within 2 days. WOW it was awesome. We sent out the invites says that DOCKTAILS are on!!!! It was so great getting back to some normalcy after Ian. Everyone though it was really beautiful. Looking forward to many evenings with our friends and neighbors just having some cocktails, some food and conversation. Many people go by on their boats and remark how nice it looks. I just smile and says thanks.

We built the pergola and it is sturdy a beautiful. It's no ones fault but my own but it isn't as big as I was wanting, it measures from the widest spot which isn't the post. It also didn't give me as much shade as I was hoping for. I added a sun shade to the top and curtains to the sides and I am going to make it work. It does add beauty to the patio.

We purchased this in June. We had to wait to install once the concrete patio was completed. It took about 6 hours to install completely and we were completely impressed with the construction. All of the components necessary were included. It turned out to be much stronger than I expected. Originally I was going to build one from scratch but after pricing Cedar components and figuring out all of the hardware required we decided to order from you. So glad we did.
