This comes in four big boxes weighing around 170lbs.each. All boards and hardware are labeled well. Me and a friend pre assembled most of it during the week in my garage. Brought in some more muscle on Saturday to carry the assembled pieces out back to the patio. With three guys we had it up and anchored in about 3 hours. Follow the instructions and lay everything out according to part numbers and you will be fine. Pre assembling saved a lot of time on Saturday.

Our pergola, which covers a portion of our patio, has added a beautiful look to the backyard space (of 5 acres), and has won oooh's and awww's from friends and neighbors. Each piece is finely crafted, and the installation was so easy to arrange and have done. The pergola provides a bit of cover from the sun, and enchanting ambiance both in the daytime and at night. We are very glad we made the investment to our outdoor space. It's given us another "room" off the dining/kitchen area. And...it's a great backdrop for parties and get-togethers.

I bought this in spring 2024 and my husband and I installed it in February of this year. We had a concrete slab poured and attached the metal plates to it after building the pergola. This past weekend we had an EF-1 tornado come through our property, winds were estimated at 110 mph, this pergola is still standing and unscathed!!! We had 30 foot trees uprooted and thrown to the ground. We are very impressed with the quality and build of this structure, 100% recommend!!!

This will be the second summer we have used this pergola. I am still pleased with it. I followed others advice and treated the wood with spar urethane before assembly. It would be easier to assemble with a couple adults. However, I was able to put it up with a little help from my 11 year old daughter. When the Oklahoma heat ramps up, I put a shade cloth over it to provide more shade. Over all I am very pleased with the pergola.

We took delivery of the 12 x 10 cedar pergola kit in early June. From start to finish, the process has been positive and the end result is the creation of a new peaceful place! Ordering was very simple, delivery arrived a day sooner than expected. The kit came in two boxes. Before assembling, we used a protective sealant. Easy to assemble, quality construction, quality hardware, excellent, easy-to-follow instructions. We added a removable light-filtering tarp on the roof for protection from the mid-day sun, and solar-powered lights on the inside ceiling. We absolutely love the addition to our outdoor space!

We built the pergola and it is sturdy a beautiful. It's no ones fault but my own but it isn't as big as I was wanting, it measures from the widest spot which isn't the post. It also didn't give me as much shade as I was hoping for. I added a sun shade to the top and curtains to the sides and I am going to make it work. It does add beauty to the patio.

Kit is well thought out. The wood is not so good. I have had some punkie spots in the legs and there is signs of cracking now starting to show up after one winter season here in Michigan. Over all its ok but I don't know how long it will last. To bad the wood is not from North America.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It all started because I needed a place to mount some solar panels. Skipping ahead (past a flimsy aluminum pergola that failed in the strong winds), I came across a 12X16 cedar pergola kit that seemed too good to be true. It wasn't! So after spreading out all the fragrant cedar pieces under my carport, I set about learning how to pour cement piers so I could transform an unused portion of my backyard into a relaxing home vacation spot. The instruction book was concise and easy to follow. All of the hardware was included, even with a few spares. The wood pieces were all cut perfectly. Only a couple of the top boards were warped, but by carefully tightening their bolts all the warp disappeared. I could have easily called for replacements, but didn't need to. When I first looked at all the parts and my untidy dirt area, I was skeptical. But carefully going through the instructions I was able to build this beautiful wooden pergola for which I constantly get compliments. As you can see, I have not even built a deck or poured a slab yet, but it is already being enjoyed. Oh yes, and those 4 heavy 400 watt solar panels that started it all now rest neatly on top, providing shade and free power. It's the good life!

We bought a 12x14 gazebo and two 12x14 pergolas to occupy our new concrete patio. We have always loved the ambiance of this look and finally found a quality product! We first sealed all of the wood. My husband built the gazebo in two days, the first pergola in 8 hours and the second pergola in six hours. The key was using two a-frame extension ladders. We’re thrilled with the finished project!!!

I decided to tackle putting it together and the instructions were great. Followed them step by step and it turned out perfect. All items were as marked and made the instructions easy to follow. I did want mine a little higher so built the forms an additional 12 inches up. I also wanted it covered so we could sit under it during weather and direct sun. We used tinted clear pvc roofing panels layered and held in place with roofing screws. We are very pleased and wish all DYI projects were this easy.
