The pergola is well thought through in terms of its design. Each part is marked, the hardware comes in labeled bags. The accompanying BILT program makes it very easy to visualize. One improvement would be a diagram showing the exact center locations of the four posts.

Took my wife and I about 4 hours. Instructions are easy to follow. I was truly impressed with the way it went together. All the pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly. It looks great too. I can’t express how well “machined” all of the parts were. Sometimes, assemblies can be frustrating. Not this one. It was actually enjoyable, to some degree. We are happy with it. Hopefully, it holds up through the seasons.

We have a 2 1/2 acre property and adding pergolas to key areas has created places to enjoy the different parts of the property in shade. Pergolas also beautify and have an elegance to them and protect outdoor furniture…all the reasons we purchased 3. The Backyard Discovery products are well made/beautiful with good instructions and good customer service. We purchased a 20x12 and financed it and it made it so easy to buy a larger priced item. Highly recommend the company and products. The items are just as pictured.

Just bought 2 of the 16x12 pergolas to sit side by side. The first thing I noticed is the color is completely off from the photos online. One of the reasons I chose this pergola was because the color matched the rest of the wood in my yard. I understand that screens can distort color a bit but this is extreme and MUCH lighter than anticipated. It does state in the description that saturation can vary but I don’t even think it’s a saturation issue as it is maybe only 1 coat of stain added as opposed to more to get the proper color maybe to just get the product out faster? Not sure but make sure you don’t rely on the color if it’s important to you. The other thing is that several of the joists were pretty bowed. It didn’t prevent us from installing but just not super high quality for the price paid. A lot of the pieces are pretty lightweight and posts are hollow. Still not sure how this withstands the high winds that they say but we did attach it to the house and a concrete patio so we’ll see how it lasts to Florida storms. Overall it was relatively easy to put together but I likely would not purchase again. If you are making a decision based on what you see in photos make sure to do more research first.

I have been wanting a pergola for my backyard for years. Ordered the 20x12 Beaumont pergola and I’m so glad I did! I weatherproofed all the parts first. It took 3 of us one 8 hr day to pour footings and one 8 hr day to put the kit together. Directions were easy to follow. The photos say it all!

Mine has been up for 2 months now and it has completely transformed my patio. Installation is a breeze if you can follow simple directions and take your time. My wife and I put our pergola together in about 4-5 hours. The quality of the materials is much more nicer than any other pergola kit I have seen at the big box stores, I’m confident it will last for many years.

I never leave reviews. And I'm the person that wondered why people say that. I assumed it's either because they may be trying to persuade someone either or way, who may be on the fence about buying a product. They are satisfied or dissatisfied. In this case, I am highly satisfied. The pergola is great. A few minor cracks in one of the 4 main corner posts, due to shipping I am assuming. I didn't call or complain, I didn't notice to I had put it up. It should be okay. I bought 2 months ago. It's been up a month now. Took about 7 hours over two days. I did alone. I had my wife to the corner post once I stood each side up. I attached all the separated parts together first in the garage. Then moved to the outside to set up. Went very smoothly. Purchased several months ago and finally had the time to assemble. I hired help and it went up easily and quickly. It took 2 guys about 5 hours to assemble. It helped to have all the parts laid out. I love and plan to put shade cloth over the top for extra shade in the summer.

This pergola, along with the shipping time & process of ordering has not disappointed. It is an awesome addition to our backyard patio. Quality materials and detailed instructions. We are actually looking to purchase a second one to go over a hot tub.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending a lot of money on a contractor to landscape my back yard, I decided I would purchase a pergola kit and save some money and put it together myself. I was not disappointed with the look and style of the pergola. It did take some time to ship and arrive which could have been better but once it arrived it took just about as much time as they predicted to put it together, but the end result was beautiful!
