Inaccuracy in GA for SALT deductions

Accuracy guarantee - they were wrong on calculations due to bug in their software, and I had to amend because of them this year. Paid over $100 for software, had to spend hours getting the software to work again, and only got a $30 check for my troubles

TurboTax has been awesome for many years!

After so many years with TurboTax, I did get very frustrated this year. Several factors, including: 1- Deductions for non-child disabled elderly parents are no longer available, or so severely limited by the new government regime that only the rich and upper middle class can take the deduction. 2- It took me 2 days to try to get the forms transmitted since there was a 1095-A document that was not correctly completed by the respective insurance company, causing a loop in the software. 3- Re: #2 above, I contacted the live support and back and forth removing the form, reloading it several times, finding that the 3 columns need to have correct data, but PENNIE only entered columns A and B. 4- Live support was excellent, and I strongly suggest using the team since our corrupt government is too busy stealing from the poor to enrich the billionaires, as they continue to remove deductions for the poor and middle class.

Practice clarity

Long time user and first time any problem w/ uploading turbotax and saving the in progress return. Directions, if any, for doing so were unclear. I now have two TT on my computer and had to doublecheck that the return that is being e-filed was the complete one. On other words, more of a hassle this year.

Should be improved

New and improved? Actually harder to work. Had a problem with how to report a charitable deduction to a Donor Advised Trust. COULD NOT figure it out with TurboTax. Fortunately the holder of the Trust gave me the information I needed. This is a common donation. Shame on TurboTax for making this harder for me.

December download?,So many,updates... trust it?

I have used turbotax for many years. This year the program was not ready. There were gaps and unavailable forms in January and from February into April updates were needed every time I used it, I am concerned that returns I completed in March have issues because of all the changes happening. Help has also become useless. It asks irrelevant follow-up questions and forgets what the help request was. Turbotax is still easy to use and is better at importing files. But can I trust the answers anymore?

Stop ruining the UI

Please stop dumbing down the UI. I've used TurboTax for around twenty years. It became better each year up until maybe ten years ago. Now it gets worse every year. I am interested in quick data entry, not flashy and useless visuals. Tabular entry can't be beat for multiple pieces of data. Why take up a whole screen with giant blocks containing one or two words of text in them? It is slow and clunky. ... take the interest and dividend section as a good example which is currently just terrible!

TurboTax Helps

Overall very good. A few points of feedback: - It never asked me whether I retired in 2025, which I did, and on what date - It prorated/reduced the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion without explaining why, as I earned all my W-2 income overseas. I researched and concluded that the reduction was because I returned to the U.S. in 2025 and the max FEIE is for a full year - It does not allow to print Fed and State returns separately or by forms or without worksheets, like in previous years. This is disappointing

Turbo Tax helps so much to make it look easy

I had to spend that $60.00 fee to talk to an agent. Two hours of waiting for help, I was finally contacted by Nathan. The problem was that I was at the finish line and the Federal could not be accepted. Nathan worked with me for over an hour. He successfully solved the problem by upgrading my software. It was very complicated but he knew just what to do all the while calming me that it just takes time. He saved me. Honestly, he saved me. Thank you again Nathan for everything, Lou Anne

Fairly easy, except for estimated taxes

All went well, as usual, except for the estimated tax section, as usual. My only problem is that I like to adjust my payments per quarter, some all in the first quarter, some in all quarters, and some with more in last quarter. In the state estimated section, this is fairly easy since I can go to forms and adjust them in forms. However, I cannot do that in the Federal Estimated Tax section. I have to print out the form and use white out to change the amount that I am paying. If the Federal was as easy as the state estimated tax section, that would be fantastic! My only other problem is with QBI, qualified business income. It can go from 20% to 0%, but it is very hard to trace why, and trying to find a place to import or type in UBIA (Unadjusted Basis Immediately After Acquisition). I could not find how to do this and my QBI was $0.00 instead of an amount closer to 5% or 10% of the maximum QBI. Have more screens and information about QBI deductions and input of UBIA.

Turbotax H&B great, but not with some minor flaws

Overall, this is a great product that I use for my taxes. I have been using this specific product for several years. The ease of use makes this product great and less painful than entering all the data myself for my investment accounts. The problems are a few, but noticeable. Every year is something different with Turbotax in terms of miscellaneous errors and problems. This year, I needed find last year's W2 data and input this manually instead of turbotax pulling the data by itself (even though it pulled other tax year's information). Additionally, every year Turbotax misses spots in the forms. Most frustrating this year was while finishing my NY state taxes, there was an inability to advance forward to submit taxes as I wanted to set-up direct deposit for estimated taxes later on and not through Turbotax. Like a hardstop, cannot submit my taxes until I pay estimated taxes via direct deposit. I feel like Intuit has their customers self-report errors for their forms and debugs months later after most users have worked around it. The problem is you cannot easily report it. Why are you making customers pay $60 for live support when there are legitimate issues that should be reported immediately so you can help all customers with these problems?
