Want to start off, shorts are true to size. Don't size down, that for sure. There is a bit of stretch but not like normal athletic attire. This are very breathable, my daughter is very much enjoying them inside the house and outside while being very active as a kid is. We love the well made zippers and style. Stated its shape after first wash and hang dry.

My daughter loves the fit of these shorts. She is very active and likes that they fit well and she can move in them. I like that they wash well and I can get stains out easily. My daughter is between size 8 and 10 so we got a 10 and it fits perfectly.

Outdoor Voices has become a new go-to brand for me. I got these shorts for my daughter to use when running and exercising. They're comfortable and not flimsy. They allow for freedom of movement but still provide good coverage and modesty. Clearly a well-made product.

Outdoor Voices Girls Rectrek Shorts are high quality shorts for young girls. These shorts are ideal for school, leisure, or outdoor fun. Material is made of stretchy blend material that feels as if it's stain resistant (time will tell). Zippered pockets are also a nice added feature.

These girls shorts are absolutely fantastic. They are lightweight and not too bulky. They are great for hiking outdoor activities as well as school. They are made extremely well and also feature a functional drawstring if you wanted to size up and zippered pockets I Would definitely recommend these shorts

These are better than expected! I got them for my daughter to wear camping/hiking. The material seems like water would roll off. They are not very thick but not see through at all and seem like they will stand up well to outdoor wear. The zipper pockets are nice and deep. I like the loose fit in the legs. I do think they run a little on the large side.

I got these for my daughter and she really likes them. The inside of the shorts comes with a different material that is soft. I really like that the pockets have a zipper so things dont fall out. Only negative is that they are little loud when you wear them. Other then that they fit good and they are comfortable.

These shorts offer a great balance of style and quality, making them a solid choice for everyday wear. Right out of the package, the overall construction feels durable and well made, with clean stitching and attention to detail that gives confidence they’ll hold up over time. The design is modern and versatile, easy to dress up with a nicer top or keep casual with a T-shirt. They also have a flattering cut that doesn’t look sloppy or overly sporty, which is a big plus. One of the standout features is the length. They’re slightly longer than many standard shorts, which makes them more comfortable and practical for walking, sitting, or staying active without constantly adjusting them. This extra coverage adds to their wearability and makes them suitable for a wider range of settings, from casual outings to travel or errands. On the downside, the fabric isn’t as soft as expected. While it feels sturdy and contributes to the overall sense of quality, it does have a slightly rough texture against the skin, especially noticeable during longer wear or in warmer weather. It’s not uncomfortable, but it’s something to be aware of if you prefer very soft, lightweight materials. Overall, these shorts deliver good quality, appealing style, and a practical length. If the fabric were softer, they’d be nearly perfect, but they’re still a worthwhile purchase for their look and durability.

These kids' shorts are a mixed bag, with some solid wins and a few noticeable downsides. If sun protection and quick-dry performance are your top priorities, these shorts are worth considering. But if your child cares most about comfort and softness, you might want to explore other options or use these primarily for outdoor or water-related activities.

These are cute shorts but they feel very stiff. My daughter didn't care for them. I got the dark blue. I do like that it has pockets that can be zipped and even though the material feels stiff it seems like it could be great outdoor clothes for hiking.
