I said why not go for the top of the line and never have to worry about it again. My sis has a 30 year old one and I hope I get 30 years out of mine. Made latkes with it and it worked really well. Half the time I normally take to grate the potatoes. I am very pleased. Made cookies for the holidays and it did splendily.

It slaps and moves up and down. It’s frustrating to spend this kind of money and need to hold the mixer the entire time I’m mixing dough.

My husband surprised me with a new one since I am cooking so much. I love this one as much as my first! It is the perfect mixer for kneading bread as well as making cookies. I love the design of the new pouring shield! The slicer/shredder is a new sleek design and works well.
