Easy to use; easy to switch out attachments; and easy to clean. Additionally, before having this mixer, I used a quality heavy-duty hand-mixer that I had for close to 15 years, which was difficult to use at times and very noisy, but my new KitchenAid Stand Mixer is practically whisper quiet compared to the hand-mixer. Subsequently, before I even got the stand mixer set up, while mixing up homemade decorator's frosting for a cake I was baking for a special occasion, which should have been a breeze for my hand-mixer to whip up, my hand-mixer somehow got bound up while mixing and caused the beater's gears to strip rendering the hand-mixer useless. The KitchenAid Stand Mixer became a life-saver for me in my home kitchen.

If KitchenAid stands behind the quality of its products, you should not have to purchase an extended warranty. How many 'last chance' emails do they need to send?
