Great milk, poor seal due to nozzle trimming issue

If I could post photos, I would show how the underside of the removable aluminum seal in burnt brown due to over heating of the food grade adhesive used to seal the container. The issue I have with this is that it still fails to seal the container. I have milk all over my car in the trunk because the milk tipped over during transport. The injection blow molded container seams to improperly seal with the removable aluminum seal. The cap was stuck on tight, but that didn't prevent the leakages. To the manufacturer of the injection molding system (specifically the trim die for the nozzle): You NEED a clean cut in the HDPE nozzle to create a good seal. The seal and cap need a continuous flat surface to seal against!!!! Either the die/cutter is dull or the trimming process needs to be redesigned to enable clean cutting/trimming of the threaded nozzle. Please, fix this. If other manufacturers can get it right, I know you can too. Get your act together.

Hey Tim, thank you for sharing your feedback and ideas for solutions. We apologize for this situation. There was a supply shortage where we had to switch plastics. We are now able to revert back to the ideal plastic which should arrive in clubs next week. For additional help, please reach out at (888) 301-0332.

Milk-good!...Jug-Bad!

Never in a million years could I imagine wasting time to write an online review for milk. Now that I'm reading other reviews, I'm not surprised at the dozens of other reviews complaining about the new milk jug design. For the last few months, I've tolerated the hard to open caps and drips/spills when pouring. But this morning, I was simply unable to open the cap on a new carton. Could not get fingers around cap to get a good grip. So, I head out to garage to grab the channel lock pliers, which allowed me to get cap off. No, I'm not a feeble senior citizen. But I would certainly feel sorry for those who are, especially if they don't have the required tool to open the carton. I assume Sam's/MembersMark did some savvy consumer research/testing before launching this brilliant design. Undoubtedly, there were advantages, most probably related to easier/more efficient packing/shipping of a carton that's a bit more square. However, amazingly, they seem to be ignoring the many customers complaining about frustrating design. So, while the milk is fine and at a very reasonable price, I'll simply do what smart consumers do to send a message: I'll buy my milk elsewhere. If enough consumers would do the same, our message may be heard by deaf ears.

Very lousy lid!!

I’m 76 and have arthritis in my hands so trying to OPEN this ridiculous lid is a joke!! I just end up knocking my knuckles on the raised handle!! Please, designers, go back to your drawing boards. The MILK inside is fine, however. Anyway— is this lid supposed to keep children OUT?? Milk is ONE thing that I wanted my kids to get INTO!!!!

Spoiled Milk

I had the same problem a few times in a row so decided to write a review. Milk spoils at least 3 days before the best by date on the jug. Went to use some last night to cook dinner and it poured out in big chunks. This has happened multiple times lately and I'm not sure what the issue is with the milk at Sam's club.

Too many jug haters....Great milk!!

The new jug design was a shock, but it takes up less space in the fridge. Some older reviews mention it being hard to open. It's just fine. Under the lid, I believe the designer has since added a flap with which you can easily pull off the seal. I've never had a problem. The milk tastes good and has a long expiration date. It costs less than the grocery store, too!

Milk 1%

The milk inside the jug is just fine. My review is more about the jug. Yes, it's an odd shape to get used to. After my first gallon, I was good to go. You just have to be more aware when pouring. Years ago I watched a documentary about packaging and how we pay extra for convenience. The standard milk jug was one of those things. I'm certain by using this design Sam's Club is able to get the milk to us a little cheaper. The average adult should be able to use the bottle just fine. I think it wouldn't be user-friendly for arthritic hands or for households with kids under 10.
