The built-in exfoliating bar gently preps my skin before the blades even touch it, which has really helped reduce irritation and razor bumps. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Review for Gillette labs razor with exfoliating bar: I really like the sleek design and how the razor feels in my hand. It feels premium and substantial. The stand provided is an added bonus. The shave was close and smooth, gliding effortlessly across my skin with no irritation, or pulling of hair. Hours after shaving, I did not notice any ingrown hairs or irritation bumps. It worked especially well in different places like the neck. I noticed I could go longer between shaves than usual. Even after three uses, the blade still felt sharp. I did find the circular head movement(as shown on the box) to be unnecessary, as I didn’t experience that movement at all while shaving. It’s hard to tell if the exfoliating bar actually exfoliates. Overall, I prefer this razor to my usual Harry’s, though the shave didn’t feel much different from other Gillette models and seems to have some unnecessary design functions.

I didn't try without, but I'm sure that you can use without any shaving cream and it'll work just fine with water. Although the stand comes in handy, I didn't really use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure what scent has to do with this, as its just a razor, no shaving cream came with it, it seems like it’ll last, but not sure its worth the price, design is interesting, it did let me get parts I usually could not get, and it does seem to be quite effective, just wish it was geared more to sensitive skin. It actually helps contour around you as you shave. Blade cuts clean and smooth. It has a nice weight to it. And the base is pretty nice too. I don't need to use the base since I hang my razor up in the shower but for someone that would have space to stand it up would like it. Overall I will continue to buy blade for this razor as I'm not super loyal to any a specific one and this seems to be better than what I was using. Would recommend if you need a new razor.

Due to that, there is no smell even after a few uses. I have always cut my skin with other razors but this one never cut my skin. The razor glides along the jaw easily which helps with a smooth shave. This razor is worth the money and well worth a try!
