I didn't try without, but I'm sure that you can use without any shaving cream and it'll work just fine with water. Although the stand comes in handy, I didn't really use it.

The only reason I removed a star is because the blades have the weirdest slime pad on the top and it gets pretty gooey while shaving. The price of the blades is also abhorrent. Other than that, a great razor.

I noticed fewer ingrown hairs and less redness after shaving, even on sensitive areas like the neck. Blades: The blades are incredibly sharp and last for several uses without dulling quickly. The cartridge design allows for precise control around tight spots like under the nose and along the jawline. It was also very smooth which is nice since I have very coarse hair and get ingrown very easy. I’m currently the member of a membership razor club and I think I’m going to cancel them and just use this razor from here on out.

Honestly the price of this razor is on average with most other razors out there so price is no issue to sum it all up yes I’d buy this again and yes I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good razor

Smooth shave, but scarily slippery handle.
