Light weight, heavy duty - perfect.

Purchased as a replacement for my beloved work horse 11-cup Pro Processor that worked like a trojan in my kitchen for 12 years. I like that this one is lighter and that, like all Cuisinart kitchen equipment, it's very easy to operate, clean and store. So far, it feels like it delivers excellently, handled the slightly larger quantities I needed for Christmas catering, and still worked efficiently making soup for two. Highly recommended over a smaller volume machine.

Good machine with some caveats

The jury is still out on the in-bowl attachment storage. On the pro side, it saves cabinet space by not having a separate storage rack for the slicing and shredding disks. On the con side, it's a bit of a pain to have to remove the two disks and the storage rack and then assemble the metal blade to the spindle, since 90% of the time I use the metal blade. I like that the motor base is lighter weight than my old model so it's easier to lift from cabinet to countertop. Performance seems to be fine. The small pusher is a little hard to get out of the medium pusher.

My insight

Cuts are rarely uniform (doesn't have to be but when you get 3 good slices and the rest mangled it gets irksome). The strength of the motor is amazing. The cup size is usually perfect for what I need. If you want to use the processor for multiple items though, you have to rinse nearly every part because everything inside is exposed to the food. Overall so much better than hand

Not as good as the original

This food processor is much less easy to use than our earlier model. While it looks nice, the design makes it harder to insert blades for operation, and the stem and chopping blade often fail to run when chopping hard cheeses and other more solid produce.

Cuisinart comes thru again for long time home chef

About 35 years ago got a DC-7 workhorse and only a boneheaded mistake ended its life. Had to get another Cuisinart-still the best company for people who love to cook. Did much research, and decided on the Custom Core 13 cup. I also bought the small workbowl accessory. Very happy with it so far. Cuisinart made some design changes a few years ago, which were not great. Thank fully they took the responses from customers to heart and the Core Custom 13 cup is really nice. My only complaint, the cord is not the really heavy round cord form my DC-7, but it is enough to get the job done. If you get this Cuisinart, and if you get the small work bowl, keep the box and plastic insert from the small work bowl and store it in that box. There is also a plastic insert for the Cuisinart. These keep the blades safely away from your hands when it is stored. I have not used the shredder or slicer discs yet, but they seem substantial, like the DC-7, so I am not worried. One other thing to note. When you use the Pulse button, with the first push it just lights up, but second push and it is running the blade. The pulse has a very quick blade stop when you let up on the button, as does the low and high speed "on" when you hit pulse to stop the blade. You need to have all parts of the bowl and lid and blades in place and properly locked before the unit operates. Very important for safety. One hint-when you wash the VERY sharp blades, I wear a meat slicer's glove. Even though I am very careful, it is just one more protective layer between blade and skin. Looking forward to many happy choppy, shreddy, slicey years with this machine.

Cuisinart Cor Custom 13-cup

Easy to assemble and clean. Like the stackable insert that holds all the blades and center shaft, making storage easy. However, there should be info in the instructions about the flashing lights on the buttons! Why is this completely ignored? Had to search the internet to find out what that was all about. I initially thought there was something wrong with my Cuisinart. Disappointing for such an expensive appliance... so can't give it a '5'.

Wish I bought it sooner!

I love this food processor. The bowl size is perfectly sufficient. Chopped and mixing are a breeze with the motor size. I have not shredded or sliced yet. I find it easy to use and clean. I do like the interior storage but it is a bit clunky to take out and put back on. It’s a little on the heavier side but I leave mine on the counter because I use it often. You can’t beat the high quality and reasonable price.

DID NOT USE THE DICER

Only one star because I returned the dicer accessory kit without using it. The more I looked at it, the more I thought the cost was too much for something I would only use occasionally. Plus the fact that it was another item that would have to be stored in my packed kitchen!

Works well, but difficult to open/close

I haven't used it enough yet for a thorough review. So far it does everything I need it to, and I love having the attachments stored inside the bowl - so no need for another box to take up counter or cupboard space. My biggest complaint is that the bowl and lid are both very difficult to rotate on or off. They're extremely stiff, and I find it very difficult to remove them and put them back in place. And the handles aren't designed well for getting a good grip. My old food processor had open handles, which made it easier to grasp them to get purchase. I guess it's possible that these will loosen up over time, but right now I'm struggling to get them to budge.

Excellent food processor

I have wanted a full size food processor for quite some time. I have been using my Cuisinart Little Pro Plus for almost 30 years. It came with a juicer attachment. I broke that attachment about 20 years ago and never replaced it. The food processor still works perfectly. My husband surprised me with this new Cuisinart for Christmas. I love it! I no longer have to mix things in two parts, it all fits in one bowl. I appreciate how the blade, slicer and shredder attachments fit into the bowl for storage. I love using this food processor.
