Perfect Solution
For anyone debating whether or not to give this washer a try, read this review! I did extensive research before I settled on an appliance to purchase and read as many reviews as I could find - this is the machine I settled on. I decided to purchase this particular washer because out of all the ones I was considering, I felt it had the best value. Its reviews were better and Walmart was running a sale on it, making the price even more competitive with the Haier appliances. At the particular time of purchase, this 2.1 cu ft washer was selling at the same price as the 1.6 cu ft Haier. I have to say this has been one of my best purchases, ever. The machine was delivered quickly and in good condition. The box was a little strange only because it wasn't exactly covered on the bottom - it only had a layer of styrofoam for protection. Other than that it was fine. The box is huge - much bigger than I had expected - so it took my husband and I to bring it up to our second floor apartment. We also had to borrow an SUV to fit it into the trunk. Installation was not difficult at all. The machine has the capability of being hooked up to either a faucet with separate hot and cold handles or a faucet with only one handle which controls both temperatures. That was very convenient being that our kitchen sink only has one handle. The machine measures the amount of water to fill on its own - all you have to do is leave the faucet in the on position. My only criticism is that the soap dispenser container is a little small. If the manufacturer had just designed it to be a little longer, or to protrude from the unit a little farther, that would have made the appliance absolutely perfect. The noise level is low, and vibration doesn't seem to be an issue at all. The unit does come with very small wheels on one side to allow for movement, but they aren't very practical. I purchased a furniture trolly for $25 and that did the trick. The machine fits perfectly on top and the trolly is capable of holding twice as much weight. It glides so easily across my tiled kitchen floor, making moving the appliance around so much easier. Being that I don't store my appliance where I use it, I was worried that constantly hooking it back up to the sink when I wanted to use it would be a pain. And it really isn't at all. Installation is simple enough that it only takes a minute or so of hooking back up before I can throw a load of laundry in. All in all, I would recommend this unit a thousand times to anyone. The energy guide that came with it claims that the yearly cost to operate is only $17 - we were spending $10-$15 every week at the laundromat alone.
Stops mid cycle
This washer actually did a great job washing the clothes when it was working. However after about 7 washes it stoped working properly. The machine would not continue after the washing cycle. The water would not drain and the timer just went down. It is important to note that if you are connecting the machine to a sink you must connect the hose to the cold input. If you connect it to the hot the cycle will also stop because cold water is required for rinsing. I will be returning this item.
Smaller than expected but amazing
Honestly was worth the purchase. If you are contemplating rather to buy or not, I would! Its pretty quite and quick and the clothes turn out better than I expected! I have mine hooked up to gas and no problem, easy install. Would recommend to friends
Leaked all over the floor first time used!
Upon using this the first time the drum leaked all over the floor when being filled. Upon examination by removing the back cover a part was completely missing. A plug of some type was missing enterly because it was badly glued from the appearance of some remaining glue. The run out of water came from the bottom of the level sensing portion of the outer drum. Rather than a difficult trip of putting the washer in my car to return it, I put a rubber stopper with a gear clamp on it.
Hello Unlucky, we appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for your recent experience with the RCA 2.0 Cu Ft Portable Washer. We pride ourselves on our high quality standards and regret that our product didn’t live up to your expectations.
RCA portable washer
I ordered mine after my 1.6 cu ft gave out I knew I wanted bigger and was concerned it wouldn't be bigger. It was delivered the next day. In perfect condition. I took the time to read the booklet and I would advise new owners to do the same. I was very pleased with the size. Am absolutely thrilled with how well it cleans .Instead of washing every day I can wash about every 3 days. I got mine due to health decline and difficulty getting to basement. Also ordered the dolly with wheels. Easy to move to and from sink.
Game changer! Washes better than SpeedQueen
My wife and I just got this along with a Panda 3.5 cu ft electric dryer. Honestly, kicking myself in the butt for waiting this long! We ABSOLUTELY love this thing! We hooked it up to the sink, and connected up the water line. Manual says you can use both hot and cold water through the cold water input, so that's very nice and contrary to the Haier washers. We did one cold and one hot water load. This thing surprisingly holds a LOT of laundry. I was a bit concerned by the size from YouTube videos, but it does half of our large hamper in one wash cycle. We can do two weeks of laundry in two loads. Now, here's the best part, I was worried it wouldn't clean well. We've been using commercial Speed Queen washers for several years now at our apt complex. And, my wife and I both agree that the clothes coming out of the RCA is much cleaner, and doesn't smell nearly as much as our washes from the Speed Queen. Which would often come out of the dryer smelling kinda moldy or mildewy. These come out great, and the washer does an excellent job of spin drying. If you're on the fence, hands down get this. It is an absolute game changer for people living in small apts.
Love, love, love it!
Best portable washer I've owned. Huge basket; comparable to small-medium sized machine in laundromat. Runs so very quietly. Goodly amount of programming variations for washing loads. Water level less than expected for large load setting, but I followed advice of another reviewer and added more water to the load; no harm to machine. Although machine large and cumbersome, I manage to slide it across bathroom floor, and hook up to sink. Drain hose goes to toilet or sink. Sturdy enough that no stabilization necessary while emptying water. Hookups to faucet easy peasy! One end to faucet, other to cold water inlet on back of machine. Can use any water temperature, but program temp must be cold or warm. Instructions advised powdered detergent, but have been using pods and regular liquid. This machine truly a gem. Should have gotten it long before now.
Not so portable, but GREAT!
PROS: I have 3 kids, I can wash EVERYTHING in this washer! including my queen size quilts! Easy hook up took about 5 minutes. (My set up is in my kitchen, my water source is my sink) Runs quite, and cleans clothes very well. Just like a normal washer but only fits about 1/2 of a normal load. CONS: Not very portable for 1 person. My husband and I both had to carry it up 1 flight of stairs. DOES NOT move around in my apartment well. Washer has 2 wheels but they're pretty useless It is bigger then other portable washers so there's now an issue of storing it. But it's still better then leaving my apartment during uncertain times! I'd suggest it to my friends so far!!
Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!
Being in an apartment during this pandemic with no washer and two kids these clothes needed a solution without me having to leave anywhere. I researched and the price was right with this washer so I leaped. I Received the washer and the rolling dolly (Must get separately) today as promised well packed no dents . I un-packed it (one person can do it but two people would make it a breeze). There was water still in the drum, I was turned off but then realized there's a lable on the washer stating it's normal bc they test it before sending it out. I set it all up in and ran my first large load which was just a bit of detergent and vinegar to clear out anything that was still in there and it worked above and beyond my expectations. Totally Love It!!!!
