poor quality foam

I received this package by mail in a box. I opened the box and let the mattress expand on the floor in infant sons room, as he doesn't play in there yet. I let it sit there for 4 days, one side did not expand more than an inch thick. I then stood it up against the wall near the heat register to see if the warmth would help it expand (for a week). It did not help. I hate running to town for unnecessary reasons as it is 45 minutes one way to the nearest walmart. None-the-less I returned it to the nearest walmart because there is no putting it back into the box it came in. I advise you NOT to buy this product.

Perfect For Great Dane Crates/Dog beds

These almost cover the entire bottom of the Midwest Colossal crates for Great Danes and other giant breeds, with just a couple inches in either direction. Assuming they aren't shredded, my Danes love these. We often use them out of the crates as stand alone beds or toss them on top of their Kuranda elevated beds. My 160lb puppy sleeps on his daily and it has held up well to the nesting, gnawing and weight. We toss on crib sheets that coordinate with our decor colors and run them through the wash easily when needed. Incredible price and much better quality compared to the memory foam dog beds at a comparable size.

Perfect for Me

Like most of the reviews the mattress has a strong factory odor and it took extra effort by manual fluffing to get the mattress to fully expand. However, I give it 4 stars because it suits our needs perfectly. It expanded to the advertised size and the odor goes away after about a week or so. The mattress has a perfect firmness to it which is comparable to my baby's favorite mattress (mom and dad's). I like that it comes with a fire protection cover. Overall, it fits the crib perfectly and is a great deal for the price you pay. As long as you don't expect perfection for $40-$50 this mattress will suit your needs.

So disappointed

Okay,so I'm always purchasing items based on reviews, and it never fails...except this time, and I'm very disappointed with graco, this is a really comfortable matress for a baby, BUT it has a horrible smell, I bought this matress for more than 2 weeks now ,and I was REALLY HOPING the smell would go away, but no!still the same as the first day it arrived, I washed all the covers that the matress comes with, and no much help on the odor, I think it also bothers my baby because when she lays on her crib she always starts to get fuzzy and she scratches her nose a lot, it's so strong the whole room smells like it ,I do Co-Sleeping and the crib it's right next to me,and I can smell the nasty odor from a distance I read some reviews when purchased and I did see some buyers complaining on the odor but for some reason I thought they were over reacting , I'm highly thinking on returning this nasty mattress and get my money back....Do NOT BUY!DO YOUR BABY A Big FAVOR!!

Makes a great dog bed for seniors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you decide to purchase the item, don’t use any sharp tool, to remove the plastic. But if you succumb to the temptation, take Elmer Fudd’s advice, “Be vewy, vewy, careful.” Apparently, cutting the waterproof liner enclosing the mattress or puncturing those items, is a common occurrence. “The oops” happened to me, and I noticed that it happened to another reviewer, during their video. Another clue is in GRACO’s warranty no-nos. While we’re on the subject, here’s an inside look at the warranty. (Something I don’t think you get to see until AFTER you buy a product; unless you’re a firm believer in opening the package, while you’re at the store.) 1. The purchaser is responsible for paying for shipping when repair is needed, ‘whether it’s your fault, my fault or nobody’s fault’. (Heard that in a John Wayne movie.) 2. It has a pro-rated 6-year warranty with a 100% trade-in, during the first year of purchase. The warranty isn’t as good as one might hope. Their list of “accidents” is so descriptive, that they gave themselves enough loopholes to get out of further action on their part. Also, it sounds like after the 12 months, they won’t reimburse you for your purchase price, but rather an undisclosed value system, based on the damage. 3. The No-Noes (damages not covered under the warranty): Tears, punctures or damages, due to customer abuse or accidents; damages caused by improper use, negligence, excessive strain, accidents, acts of nature (clever way of saying it.); and damages caused by extreme temperatures. Apart from shipping accidents, you’re probably not going to use the warranty anyway. I mean, how much does a baby weigh? My dog is 25 pounds and it doesn’t look like she’s even dented the fabric. Everyone expects the diapers and the pads to catch the flowing river. And if that doesn’t happen, you have a back up--a zippered waterproof mattress pad, encasing the mattress. If you want further protection, you could always buy another waterproof mattress pad. I had a twin-size pad, and I covered it over the plastic sheeting. And this method, protected my GRACO mattress and pad from getting soiled, when my dog couldn’t get outside to use the bathroom. As far as comfort is concerned, I sat on the end with my 150+ pound body, and my posterior didn’t even feel the hard floor. The cushiony foam came to greet all my chunky curves and I felt quite cozy. But alas, the bed is for my dog, who has been sleeping on a towel lately, in between washings of her body pillow. The mattress and its covers, appear to be good quality and made by those busy Chinese hands. Having this product come along, courtesy of the Spark Review program, was such a needed blessing. Because for the past two years, I’ve been waiting for manufacturers to come out with the ultimate dog bed, for a price that doesn’t make me roll my eyes.

Grandson Sleeps Like a Baby Now!

Bought as replacement and we are VERY happy with this item. Folded when picked up and was ready to use within 36 hours. VERY comfortable for the grandson. Started sleeping through the night immediately! Great product at a GREAT price. Other good mattresses are twice the price. Cannot beat this deal!

Didn't fully expand, strong chemical odor.

I put too much faith in the Graco name. This is not a quality product. It's a cheap, low quality, flammable piece of foam. It has a strong chemical odor that gave me a headache even after airing out for a week. It never fully expanded, so one end was completely compressed even after allowing a full week to expand and "fluffing" like the instructions say to. I just can't feel good about putting my newborn on this "mattress". Contacted Graco, they have a long drawn out process, and will only replace it with another chunk of foam. Will be trying to cram this thing back in the box and taking it back. Makes me think twice about other Graco products...

Pretty good mattress. loved how it came rolled up in a small box. My daughter is used to sleeping with me on my foam mattress so I figured maybe if I got her her own foam mattress she would sleep in it. she was doing good for a while now not so much.

BabyJ’s1stMattress

My husband and I have a nice premium soft and comfortable mattress. Are 5 month old seemed to like our mattress as much as we do. We decided to research and try to find a baby crib mattress that feels just like ours and we came across this Graco Premium Foam Mattress. JC Penney’s had the same mattress but for $10 more. We made our purchase based on consumer reviews. We read a review about a lady who stated that she got inside of the crib and tried it out for herself lol. She reported that the mattress was truly soft and comfortable. The reviews mentioned how the mattress will not inflate immediately. This is true. It will take some time. We waited a couple of days before allowing our baby to try it out. We were not in a rush. The reviews mentioned taking the mattress in the bathroom, shutting the door, and turning the shower on to help inflate the mattress faster. We did not try this. The reviews also mentioned the ‘smell’ of the mattress. It does have a brand new mattress smell that lingers. Other than the mattress smell, we are satisfied with the mattress. It is nice, soft, but firm enough for a baby. FYI The mattress comes folded in a box about 4ft tall and about 8 inches wide. When you first look at it, you would not think there’s a mattress inside! My husband was like,’What is this!?’ The box is not heavy. Our baby likes to stretch his arms out and turns side ways while sleeping. We are happy that he can sleep as wild as he wants in the comfort of his own little crib! We have the Graco converter (dark cherry colored) crib. The mattress does not make that plastic ‘crunchy’ sound every time he moves. No noise!
