It is blue when warming and red when ready. The towels come out warm and a bit moist for comfort. It not scolding hot but just perfect. Being ably to store 2 towels is great. The red light indicates it's ready to use. It does get warm, but personally I prefer it a little hotter. Overall, it's good.

I do wish it was a little warmer or had a feature that we could use to increase or decrease temperature. Other than that it's fine. Very light and compact shape. Is not warm to touch (the outside) so child friendly.
