Not For Your Samsung TV

I bought the Beam Gen 2 and a Sonos Mini Sub for base. The sound is very good, but this soundbar does NOT work with my Samsung QN90 TV. Sonos says they are working on a fix, but they do not know if or when it will fixed. I wasted $1000 on this soundbar because now it just sits and acts as a very expensive Alexa speaker. Shame on Sonos, I thought I was buying the best.

Hello, While most TVs are compatible with Sonos home theater speakers, some may need additional configuration or may not work with Sonos. Here are some basic requirements when using Sonos speakers with your TV.<br /><br />If you do not see some of the ports of menu options mentioned below, consult your TV or external source device’s manual or manufacturer support for help.<br /><br />TV requirements<br />The Beam requires a TV with an HDMI ARC port in order to utilize CEC, Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant to control your TV. If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port, you can Beam to a digital optical audio output using the optical audio adapter (only included with Arc and Beam). You will not be able to control your TV using CEC or voice when using the optical connection. If you encounter issues related to HDMI ARC during setup, see our article about troubleshooting HDMI ARC errors at support.sonos.com. <br /><br />I hope this helps.

Sonos Soundbar is excellent. Apple gift card ($40)

I bought this Sonos soundbar Ver 2 a few weeks ago. Installation was a breeze and sound is excellent. The reason of 4 stars instead of 5 is because I bought it as part of a promotion that gives you a FREE $40 Apple gift card. I got an e-mail from Sonos a week later I submitted the request saying that the Sam's Club invoice doesn't specify the Version number of the sound bar. If I don't submit the invoice with the version number, Sonos will cancel my request. The invoice says SONOS Soundbar. I also included the serial number of the item in my request and Sonos should be able to confirm that belongs to a Version 2. If this persist, I will return it to Sam's I let them deal with Sonos. This might be an SPAM. There is no way to contact Sonos customer support about this.

Excellent Soundbar

I did a lot of research on available sound bars and Sonos was always one of the top recommended brands. My wife wasn’t too fond of the price, until we went to our local club and ran it and the other brands, through their demo mode. The Sonos Beam blew every sound bar at Sam’s out of the water, and made them all sound flat and washed out, which convinced the wife that it was worth the money. If your thinking about upgrading your sound bar, spend a little more and start building your Sonos system.

This speaker makes you work for the sound

The good- this speaker sounds really good in a 14x20 living room. The Bad-doesn't stay connected, I have to reconnect the thing every two weeks or more and the reconnect procedure is tedious and has to be repeated MULTIPLE times (do the exact same thing 10 times and time #10 it works as an example)/you have to have wifi, Bluetooth, and location on just to do anything with this speaker/there has been times where the app says the speaker is fine and yet no sound is coming out, or the app says the speaker disappeared and yet it is playing just fine/Sonos support doesn't have an email option, just a chat that has a narrow window of when they will answer of a phone number that puts you on an indefinite hold. For a 500$ single speaker, WE should expect that it would work when needed and as it is supposed to, but instead it is a nightmare to deal with.
