My remote for my other TV Roku is 9 years old and I have only had to replace batteries. Very frustrating. Guess I will have to buy another remote.

I have photophobia, and this TV is very comfortable for my eyes because I can adjust the brightness and make the screen very soft. The Movie Mode is especially helpful and makes watching TV much easier on my eyes. It also works very smoothly and does not freeze like other TVs I have owned in the past. We have not had any issues with either so far. We plan to purchase another sometime this year for another room. The picture , ease of using the apps, and the overall operation of our Samsung television is great. I thought the upgraded remote would be difficult for me but it is so easy to use. Now when I turn it on, it works for a couple minutes then the picture freezes with some green lines and pixels throughout it and make a god awful static and screeching noise. I had the previous model that work amazingly until it was knocked over by a contractor. They replaced it with this less than desirable unit. Now I have a tv that can't be watched and no receipt to get it replaced.
