Drop Dead Gorgeous Display
Stunning picture but serious issue with volume output. I connected the TV to my stereo receiver using an optical cable and the volume was very low. I almost sent the TV back. The wall mount bracket that comes with the TV was relatively easy to install but the instructions were terrible - the available video cleared up my questions. No printed manual and the online manual offered zero information. The onscreen manual isn't much better.
Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG TV. It’s great to hear the picture quality has impressed you and that the wall mount bracket installation went smoothly with help from the video guide. We understand how important it is for your audio setup to deliver the same level of performance, and low volume output through an optical connection can be limiting. Unparalleled Gaming Brightness and Clarity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this TV specifically for high end gaming, and am incredibly pleased with my purchase. 83 inches of 4k, 165hz, 12 BPC, G-Sync VRR, HDR with over 2200 bits of peak brightness is absolutely incredible. Will never be going back to non-OLED

Great Gaming and Streaming
This is my 3rd LG TV, C2 then G4 and now the G5. Going from the C to G's was a great upgrade. I used these mainly for gaming with PC, Xbox and PS5, however the new G5 65" is an awesome streaming TV especially for YouTube and all the popular streaming apps. The Gaming is extremely good, the Refresh rate makes such a big difference, so smooth. I don't even use monitors anymore. This was on sale for Black Friday which caused me to buy it right then. Awesome TV.
Hi there! Thank you for sharing your journey with LG TVs, from the C2 to the G4 and now the OLED65G5WUA. It’s exciting to hear how the upgrade to the G series has elevated both your gaming and streaming experience. The smooth refresh rate clearly makes a big impact, and it’s great to know the G5 has even replaced monitors for you. Picking it up during Black Friday sounds like the perfect timing. The King of OLED TVs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG OLED83G5WUA isn’t just a TV — it’s a centerpiece. From the moment you turn it on, you’re met with a picture so rich and immersive it almost feels three-dimensional. LG’s OLED evo technology, paired with the new Alpha 11 AI Processor, takes everything you watch and elevates it — whether it’s a 4K HDR film or a 1080p stream. The clarity, contrast, and color accuracy are truly world-class. Blacks are absolute, highlights pop, and the overall image looks more natural than ever. What impressed me most is how bright this OLED can get. Traditionally, OLEDs struggled in well-lit rooms, but LG’s Brightness Booster Max and improved heat dissipation make this panel more capable than any OLED before it. Whether you’re watching a game in daylight or a movie at night, the picture remains vibrant and consistent. For gamers, it’s a dream setup. The 165 Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 ports, NVIDIA G-Sync, and AMD FreeSync Premium support make everything ultra-responsive. There’s virtually no input lag, and motion stays razor-sharp. Add to that the TV’s fast 0.1 ms response time, and you get a competitive edge with stunning visual fidelity. The design deserves a mention too. LG’s “One Wall Design” lets the screen sit flush against the wall, creating a clean, gallery-style aesthetic. It’s minimalist, modern, and makes even a massive 83-inch panel look elegant rather than overwhelming. Sound quality is equally refined. With Dolby Atmos and AI sound processing, the built-in speakers produce an unexpectedly full soundstage. Still, pair it with a quality soundbar or receiver and you’ll have a home-theater experience that rivals most cinemas. There are very few drawbacks here. The price is premium — but so is everything about this TV. And while reflections can still occur in very bright environments, LG has done an excellent job reducing glare compared to past models. Final Verdict If you’re looking for the best possible large-screen experience, the LG OLED83G5WUA is it. It delivers jaw-dropping visuals, elite gaming performance, an art-gallery design, and next-gen smart features that make everyday use effortless. It’s not just one of the best OLED TVs of 2025 — it’s one of the best TVs ever made.

Beautiful TV and colors but not perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV is beautiful. The col ors are vivid. Black is truly black, as its supposed to be in an OLED. Motion and brightness are good. The biggest negative to state about the TV is its representation of near-black. As mentioned, black shows up truly black. But frankly, almost black also shows up as black. What this means is that it is really challenging to see detail in dark scenes. This is especially noticeable in HDR and Dolby Vision. Perhaps there is user error, but I've configured according to guides and am in Filmmaker mode, in a dark room, with proper brightness. There is a setting to make the blacks less black which does bring detail, but also makes the blacks into gray. At that point though, you shouldn't get an OLED. Only other nit is the ads that are plastered all over the TV. Crazy that a TV this premium has so many advertisements. At least they can be turned off (as of now), but honestly, they shouldn't be on by default.
Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the vivid colors, true blacks, and smooth motion of your LG OLED — it’s wonderful that the overall picture quality has impressed you. We also completely understand your concerns about near-black detail in dark scenes and the ads on the interface. Your feedback is very valuable, and we’ll make sure it’s noted as we continue to improve the experience for our customers. Best tv EVER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really love our 77" G5 OLED. Picture quality is outstanding. Installation went fine and really looking forward to watching football with this great picture. Re-watching old series (The Last Kingdom) and the upscaled improved picture quality greatly enhances the experience.
Thanks for sharing, Cristina! 🙌 Your 77” G5 OLED sounds like the ultimate viewing upgrade—football, binge-watching, and even re-watching The Last Kingdom just got a major glow-up! This G5 OLED is a cut above all others...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been waiting for the right time to upgrade to an 83-inch OLED, and the LG G5 was worth the wait. The brightness on this panel is phenomenal; it has the pop of an LED but with that perfect OLED contrast. It is significantly brighter than my last set, making HDR content really shine. The installation looks super clean thanks to the included wall mount service—it hugs the wall perfectly. I’m also blown away by the Alpha 11 AI processor. I watch a mix of high-quality streams and standard satellite TV, and the upscaling makes lower-resolution content look nearly 4K. No artifacts, just a clear, smooth image. Hands down the best TV I’ve ever owned.

Can't go wrong with OLED, 4 stars due to issues
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TV itself is great. Filmmaker mode looks odd, so would need to switch to Cinema mode for "old" Filmmaker functionality that I saw in my 77inch CX model. Sound quality is great, better than expected coming from the TV itself. The UI in the CX is much better than what is available in the G5: the screensaver pushes ads constantly, if you let the TV idle, it'll play ads. I still need to mess around with the settings to see how I can disable these ads or if it's even possible to disable them in the first place. Much brighter than the CX. The one feature so far that I've noticed does not work is the Screen Share for laptops/PCs. Maybe this can be fixed in the future with a software update but as of now, I can only mirror my phone using Google Cast but sharing PC screen does not work as it did in the CX. The magic remote that came with the CX is miles better than the one that comes with the G5. There is no dedicated mute button so you have to sit there with your thumb on the volume until it goes all the way down. The cursor movement is controlled by the "enter" button as was in the CX remote but it seems much easier to accidentally enable the cursor when you're trying to press enter with this new remote. Overall, the experience and picture quality has been great so far. I'm hoping that some of the issues that I've experienced can be remedied by messing with the settings, waiting for a future software update, and possibly buying a different remote that is compatible with the G5.
