LG G5: The Best TV I’ve Owned… With One Small

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending some time with the LG G5… honestly, this TV is ridiculous. The picture quality is incredible. Super bright for an OLED, amazing contrast, and colours look much more natural and cinematic than my previous Samsung S90D. Everything just has more depth and realism instead of that overprocessed “wow” effect. Gaming and movies both look stunning, and paired with the Q990D it feels properly premium. Now the honest bit: There is some visible dithering / faint diagonal noise in very dark scenes or bad quality content if you look closely. Apparently it’s a common WOLED thing rather than a fault, but worth mentioning because once you notice it, you notice it. That said… with normal content I barely see it anymore because the TV overall just looks that good. No TV is perfect, but the G5 is easily the best TV I’ve owned so far. 🥰

We have our living room window opposite the tv on one side and wall lights on the other and have always had to put up with the fact we can see both at times. This is no longer the case with this LG tv. The picture is sharp and bright even for viewing sports. The price was reasonable too compared to any of the competitors for this quality.

Loved my 60" Samsung that lasted 13 years and still working. But this LG 77" is levels beyond. The colors, there resolution is unbelievable. Everything is crystal clear. I'm sure the sound is wonderful also but I use a high end Marantz with Klipsch speakers.

A significant upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the same Sony Bravia HD TV since 2013 and thought it was time for an upgrade. I spent hours looking at the pros and cons of OLED vs mini led and different models from Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and LG. I had looked at my personal space and decided I did not want anything over 50 inches and many companies only seem to start their high end models from 55 inches onwards. I decided on the LG for a number of reasons - it was OLED at 48 inches, it had significantly higher peak brightness than many other OLEDs and also had four HDMI 2.1 connections, which allows me to game on it via my pc. I am very impressed with the TV, the picture is clear and sharp, with great colour accuracy in filmmaker mode - there is no issue with response time in games and the upscaling, even on old DVDs is great. As it was not much more than the C5 I decided to get the flagship and am very happy with my choice.

Good tv but Not overwhelmed

Its s nice tv but not as good as i thought oled was going to be compared to my previous led LG tv this one is replacing. I occasionally notice a halo’ing effect radiating around certain pictures even when screen is mostly black and this is something i didn't expect with individually lit pixels. Also the display is meant to upscale to 4K using AI but again the picture doesnt look much different to my previous HD tv display 🤷‍♂️

Fabulous picture but sound drops out to nice or tw

The sound drops out while watching tv and will not come back on until you fully unplug the tv and wait a couple of minutes until turning it back on. I have tried everything! This is a very expensive purchase and I expected better. It’s so so very frustrating.
