Waited a year before buying because of the price. Now that I have it best purchase ever makes restaurant quality drinks. My family calls to see if the bar or smoothie shop is open daily thats just how good it works. Can't wait to have a party to show off my new toy.

After trying several machines, over the years. I just couldn't get the perfect ice consistency, like in every great coastal establishment. Although the cost was slightly more. I can margaritas and other drinks perfect and with perfect ice consistency. Very quick and easy to use. I have crowned my wife the Queen of our Margaritaville. I bought this for our parties that we throw 2 or 3 times per year after I stole the idea from a friend who rented one of those slushee frozen margarita and daiquiri machines for her party. Since we have multiple parties, I thought it would be worth the investment to buy instead of rent. I’ve found the slush machines are very expensive ($ thousands), and I’ve read multiple places that they are all very difficult to clean, so I purchased this Margaritaville machine for a fraction of the cost. However, the challenge I have had is getting the right recipes. Although very expensive, I’ve read that the slush machines are easy. They have premade mixes that are added to the machine and it turned on, and then add alcohol (for grown-up beverages). Simple as that. I scoured the internet and could not find how much ice each setting spits out in this Margaritaville machine so I could conjure up my own recipes. (The recipes in the Margaritaville guide are too watery. Read on for some recipes that I came up with.) So, I tested each setting. Below are my results, and these results are by all means only APPROXIMATE. Because the ice comes out "fluffy" like a snow cone, the volume is more than the actual weight, so I have the SETTING, Weight, Volume. My photo is the result of the RITAS setting to give you an idea. These tests are with ice only, and NO other ingredients. RITAS - w 5.75 oz, v 1.5 cups DAIQUIRIS - w 4 oz, v 1.0 cup MOJITOS - w 4 oz, v 2.5 cups SMOOTHIES - w 4 oz, v 1.0 cups SLIDES - 5.5 oz, v 1.25 cups COLADAS - 5.5 oz, 1.25 cups As you can see, some of these are the same or very similar. I did not track how many blending cycles and length of time each cycle was, so that might have been one of the differences. (I recommend you watch the video from the manufacturer, so I’m not going to explain the cycles to you, as it will be repetitive to the video.) Or, perhaps the manufacturer has more than one setting for the same result, and just named them differently for various types of drinks. My star rating is based on the following. Price is decent compared to the slush machines. Pretty easy to clean. Flexible with the ability to easily add more ice to the beverage, and the blend-only option. Deduct one star for printed guides and literature, including lack of information for settings (such as amounts of ice dispensed), and watery recipes. All in all, I recommend this machine,

I bought it 3 years ago and used it once and it stopped working, I called and they send me a new one immediately, now its collecting dust. I will not be using this machine, I was pretty embarrassed when I had a party and I was trying to make the drinks but it didn't work wasted 500.00.

I love the Margaritaville Machine. I didn't like the fact I had to go in and pick up Heavy enough.
