Color features are pretty cool. The app leaves much to be desired, but it works well enough. Make sure it's updated (it may take some time to push an update through), and also make sure the software on the lights are updated. The camera works best when there's no additional ambient lighting AND when you have a really bright screen. Otherwise, the color variations tend to be pretty mild. Also helps if you have a flat/white wall behind the TV so that the colors pop more evenly. Our current setup is a TV in the corner of the room, but not a big deal. Nice packaging, too.

I originally bought the Govee floor lamp and needed a the TV lights. I decided to go with the Backlight 3 lights because I figured that was the best one not knowing there was another one with two lenses. Although I was really bum I bought the wrong one, I am still satisfied at how fast and reactive the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite is.

The backlight adapting to what is on the screen adds more than I thought it would. It's bright enough to be seen with lights on full blast but when the lights are out is when it shines.It can be tricky to getting it set up, but it's user friendly enough to not be a problem. Also when it's set up, that's it. You may have to calibrate it again if you move the TV but that's it.My only complaint (which is a small one) is that the 55" TV i have is slightly small when considering the length of the LED strips. This causes some overlap when applying them to the back of the TV and sometimes causes two colors to shine from the same spot. It's definitely not a deal breaker but it would be nice to see future products be made with specific sized TVs in mind. I understand that this is a catch-all size and it works great, so my gripe isn't a big one. The longer LEDs made sticking them on the back of the TV somewhat tedious but I'd imagine 60" and higher TVs wouldn't have this problem.All in all- 10/10 and I definitely recommend it if you're on the fence.

I love how it looks and it really enhances my experience, but I can't quite get the color calibration just right. If you turn the saturation down too low colors are washed out, but if you turn it up you get things like red LED light from brownish bricks on the screen.

Not as accurate and as smooth as some of these online videos make them out to be. I've spent a ton of time trying to calibrate the camera and lights to be as close to perfect as possible and the lighting just isn't cutting it. Transitions from color to color are sharp and abrupt instead of smooth and the colors reflected off the wall are sectioned instead of blended. Hoping for an update of some sort to improve the quality.

Overall, for the price compared to other options out there, this thing is actually really good. Would it be better to not have to have the Camera sitting on your TV? Well yes, but the other options out there without the camera also have their downsides, such as not being able to be used for things not directly plugged into the box. This means the Govee works by simply setting it up and forgetting it, no need to swap cables out when you get a new device. Occasionally the color choice in some muted browns or white(ish) are a bit odd, they mostly go to like a yellow, but overall very good. Compared to the other option out there, with this one being roughly 20% of the cost, i'd say this is a great deal.

This TV backlight kit is definitely well worth the money (and it's not that much money!) I purchased the kit as a test run to see if I liked the idea. I liked it so much I decided to "upgrade" to the Phillips Hue version, only to realize that this kit at less than a 1/4 the price is 4x better than Phillips Hue version. I'm really enjoying this product. I have two things that I would recommend. 1- better white balance options. Maybe something that sends white to the tv and the app could more accurately balance the color of the led's. 2- the cameras pick up reflections off the tv, windows, lamps, etc. Those reflections are duplicated in the lighting.

I'll be honest - I bought these fully to enjoy The Eras Tour. It was super easy to install - didn't even take the tv off the mount. The stickies don't seem to work on the uneven surface of the tv back but it's fine. Highly recommend. Makes me want to buy more lights.

As a TV backlight this thing works very well, wasnt sure what to expect but Govee delivered. One side note would be that the camera will pick up other RGB elements in the room and get a little over enthusiastic. Works best in the dark with movies and games, makes it more immersive for sure.
