They last a good amount of time (varies depending on the time of year, pollen, dust, etc.), and come in a range of sizes to make sure they’re right for each HVAC unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Filtrete filter really captured a lot in the 30 days we had it in our unit. It fit perfectly and was easy to install. It captured a great deal of various dust and looks completely coated. It's interesting because our thermostat gives updates based on how the AC is working, to say if the system is lagging due to AC filter needing to be changed out. The generic brands take forever to hit that threshold, I'm suspecting because they don't capture as much or have larger gaps for airflow. This filter was right around the month mark and I got the alert. I would definitely get this one again!
