My previous 2 mattresses are pillowtop. This mattress is not and results in being firmer despite the reviews. It is hard to sleep on side with shoulder and hips not sinking into a pillowtop.

Don't buy for the cooling gel! Loses all cooling properties when you put sheets on. High count cotton sheets help... but not much. Other than that bed sleeps amazing.
