Looked like rags after one wash!

I purchased several sets of bath, hand, and washcloth towels for guest rooms. I washed everything in advance of family visiting, and when I took them out of the dryer I was shocked to see every towel has multiple snags. I’ve washed several sets of bath and pool towels over the years in the same washer and dryer with no issues. I’m embarrassed to have guests use these but have no choice now, as they arrive tomorrow. Disappointed and frustrated. (The site is not allowing me to upload the photo.)
