First days using the OpenFit Air

The sound is great and stronger for windy and places with more background noise. They do switch on the audio while attempting to place the on the ears, which is a bit annoying when you don't have them in place yet and an audiobook starts playing. They tend to cause some behind the ear discomfort with eye glasses unless situated just right.

Single ear disconnects at random

Easy 5/5 on all fronts besides the random disconnections. A single ear will disconnect for no discernable reason. Sometimes left, sometimes right, never both at the same time. I'm not sure if it's a Bluetooth receiver issue, but it happens at home all the time

These would be five stars

These would be five stars if they had better controls, because they are attractive, comfortable, and charge quickly. I also have an OpenRun headset, and it has button control for picking up calls, turning streaming on and off, connecting, and controlling volume. But, I wanted something that didn't have a wire at the back. The touch control on the OpenFit Air is hard to find and hard to get the touch pressure right. The sound quality is about the same with both. I almost sent them back, but I appreciate the comfort and lack of a wire.

Comfortable and effective

I have enjoyed using the new OpenAir Shokz. I wish there was a way to turn them off short of putting them in the case but otherwise they are great for listening to podcasts while I am walking and hiking without fear of losing them while still maintaining awareness of the sounds around me.

Best headphones I’ve had!

I’ve been spending more time outside walking and jogging and I hated how my ears felt wearing my AirPods after. I switched to on ear Beats and hated that, too. I was originally looking at the Shokz bone conduction headphones but liked the true wireless aspect of the open air. I was pleasantly surprised by both the fit and the sound. I row, and I jog, and they stay on with no problem at all no matter how much movement I do. They’re so lightweight it’s easy to forget they’re even there. And the most important part: the sound is fantastic!! I like that you can download their app and control the sound, and also personalize shortcuts for tapping/long pressing each one. The only hiccup so far is they can be paired to switch between two devices seamlessly. So I have to choose between my watch, my phone, and my iPad. But honestly everything else makes up for that.

Sound is good

These sound great, the sensitivity of the touch to turn on, volume or skip ahead in an audio book are so sensitive that its really difficult to the adjust them and get them in the right place without turning them on/off several times in the process. The loops don't feel as secure the as the openrun pro but they haven't fallen out when I run they just feel like they are about to. All in the all they are ok, not really good or bad.

Great Product with Great Sound and Great Physical Fit

I have Shokz Open Run, OpenAir and OpenAir Fit. OpenAir fit has the best sound quality, best physical fit on ears (though OpenAir is great in that area too). OpenFit leaks the sound out a bit, but OpenAir Fit does a much better job. Battery life is reasonable. I listen to audiobooks a lot and they still last the whole day without putting back in the charging case. The app is not great but gets the job done. I wish there was more control/flexibility over the customization of touch controls. Still reasonably flexible as it is. The only complaint I have is the price point. There are a lot of competitors with reasonable performance out there which has a quarter of the Shokz price, especially in the open ear air conduction segment.

Not what we expected, not really what I hoped for...

Received these for Fathers’ Day, but I’m honestly disappointed. Instead of transmitting sound via bone-conduction as the numerous other Shokz we’ve had in the past, these simply have tiny speakers and are “open” to allow ambient sound to also be heard passively. The tiny speakers sound fantastic, mind you. Even if you’re looking for something along these lines, I’m sorry to tell you that, at least for me, these will not stay on my ears. Simply leaning forward, laying down, or moderately vigorous activity will allow gravity to snatch these away from your head. I received these as a gift, and I’m really grateful. My kids and wife however were not aware that these weren’t bone conducting, nor that they would have a desire to wander. If I could return them, I would.

Solid wrap around ear buds

They wear is very comfortable. I have a ton of ear piercings so I can’t fit in earbuds. Shokz don’t look too big and weird. My last earbuds had a big blue light on them and I felt embarrassed wearing them. Audio feature, it’s good. They aren’t Bose’s. The bass isn’t fantastic but that’s not important to me. I haven’t worn them for more than an hour so I can’t comment on battery life. So far so good. I highly recommend these!

Great for some but not all applications

I was looking for some open-ear earbuds with the hope that these would replace some in-ear earbuds that I already use for teaching yoga online, running, just wearing around, etc. Where these really excel is sound quality. Where they fall short is how securely they stay in place on my ears when I wear them and move around a lot (such as during teaching yoga). I'm keeping them because I love how they sound and will use them for work and other less active activities. I'm not confident enough in them staying in place to trail run with them across streams or teach yoga with them. One other minor issue is that it's easier to inadvertently bump the "controls" on the buds than with other Shokz headsets that I've had, unintentionally pausing/playing/adjusting volume.
